Warning: L O N GDowatt
“ Dowatt are small, artificially created beings that originate from a far away planet. Their main mission in the Orb is the surveillance and analysis of the environment. Dowatt are not organic in nature, instead being a mix of synthetic muscles, an intricate computer system and electric circuits working as nerves. Dangerously high levels of voltage flow through their wires, forming a defensive mechanism against predators. „
~ In-game Description
Groups of Dowatt can be called “kilowatts”, “megawatts”, and so on, depending on their size.
Dowatt’s internal supercomputer as well as its software can be modified to perform any of the tasks that an average PC can do. This means that you can run any informatic program you wish on it. Due to this, you can, indeed, play Creatures of Sonaria inside of Sonaria.
Dowatt’s origin is in a planet several light years away from the Orb, albeit it went a long process of modifications and artificial evolution before its final version arrived to the Sonarian Orb. Its creators were an advanced civilization of interstellar-traveling creatures, which also created many other inorganic/mechanical lifeforms using their futuristic technology.
Dowatt aren’t sentient; they have no self-awareness as a species, and lack an individual “mind”. It’s likely that their AI systems were truncated to not achieve any of these on its own. It can solve problems and process large amounts of data like any supercomputer, but it’s doubtful whether it can be considered a true life form or not.
NOTE: this is not planned to be applied to in-game mechanics: Dowatt don’t need to eat or consume organic nutrients at all, as they don’t have a natural body. If desperate, they can convert the meat they eat into power, but this isn’t very useful for them.
Dowatt look completely lifeless when they have no power running through their electric system. This is when they’re “turned off” to save power and “sleep”. They normally are kept in this state inside of underground bases, while they wait to go outside for daily environment surveillance missions.
The inside of a Dowatt’s helmet contains a rotating high resolution camera and an extension of its computer system. This is covered in a glassy material that protects them from harsh light, wind, and any external objects that could damage them.
Dowatt’s electric circuits are akin to nervous and circulatory systems. They distribute power and data across its body, muscles, and computer systems. Electric power is especially concentrated on the external areas of the electric circuit: the exposed spine, the neck wiring, and the antennas. The energy they carry is so high that to a human, even standing near them is dangerous. Touching/biting any of these elements can shock a weak creature to death. Due to this, many creatures and predators think twice before attacking it.
These creatures, for obvious reasons, are extremely vulnerable to water, and stay away from it at all costs.
During rainless electric thunderstorms, an unusual number of Dowatt go outside and glide up in groups to catch electricity from the ambience with their antennas. However, if directly struck by a lightning, their circuits overload, often leading to death. -

Ferrah
“ Ferrah are sleek and thin creatures built for speed and endurance. Their large chest cavities hold an incredibly strong diaphragm and pair of lungs, enabling them to sprint long distances without tiring. Although fragile, they hunt best among packs to take down their prey in long distance chases… that is, if their prey even has the chance to escape. „

Ghibli
“ Dwelling in skies and dusty sand dunes, this creature spends most of its time in the dry drafts of air. Easily maneuvering itself with its two large wings and winged tail it can find safety in the clouds. It usually ambushes from the skies and grabs prey using their four front arms and flying away, using a devastating drop below to kill them. They have a knock-out ability that allows them to disable predators and flee from combat. „

Warning: L O N GCavengauu (Banana Cerberus)
“ Cavengauu are giant hydras that reside in the warmer, lusher areas of Sonaria. The middle head is the larger, dominant head, and often stops it’s two smaller heads from quarreling with each other. They use their large, mace-like tails to knock and render predators unconscious as their bite force isn’t very strong. „
~ In-game Description
Cavengauu reside in the warmer, lusher areas of Sonaria, often in large sociable packs (typically with 4-8 individuals) called bunches. The middle head is the larger, dominant head and often stops its two other heads from quarreling.
In a bunch, Cavengauu, with the most heads (up to five), tend to be the most dominant.
Cavengauu rot with age. Elders of the species are often kicked out/left behind by their bunch as this process begins.
Rather than lay eggs, Cavengauu plant seeds and protect the sprouting trees.
Cavengauu use their thick tails to topple trees and destroy rocks to make room for their large nesting areas.
Cavengauu nesting areas are often decorated, usually with harvested foliage and pretty rocks.
It is entirely possible for Cavengauu to reproduce asexually.
Babies grow in bunches connected at the tail but break off once they’re able to walk by themselves.
Male Cavengauu often babysit while females search for food.
Cavengauu are monogamous and have partners for life.
Cavengauu heads are very picky; in order to become partners, each head on one Cavengauu has to like all three heads on another Cavengauu.
Often, they gift prized items to their partners.
Same-gender Cavengauu couples are common.
If a head is undesirable, the other heads will rip it off.
Cavengauu will knock each other’s tails together as a means of affection. When sleeping, they almost always sleep with one another.
Growth stage determines their colors:
Green Cavengauu are just babies/juveniles. They don’t taste particularly very good but otherwise are vulnerable to most predators. Juvenile Cavengauu are especially playful and can sometimes be seen batting smaller creatures (Such as Minawii) around in the water.
Yellow Cavengauu are mature adults and have developed a thick, tough peel to protect their bodies.
Brown/Black Cavengauu are elders and need to be cared for by their kind. Their flesh is soft and mushy, leaving predators struggling to open and close their mouths afterward.
Cavengauu almost entirely feed on poisonous/toxic creatures. As a result, it makes their peels very gross and unappetizing to chew on. Their diet also makes their meat to become slightly radioactive; large amounts can sometimes make creatures feel sick.
Their peel is not skin and doesn’t hurt when removed. However, doing so forever leaves them vulnerable to predators.
Cavengauu raid nests and eat the eggs of smaller creatures often as well.
Cavengauu can’t swim, however they can easily float. -

Dyaelatura (Butterfly Raptor)
“ A close relative to the Mekmek, Dyaelatura is a lightly built raptor-like creature with a carnivorous diet. They take on a terrestrial lifestyle and are swift with the ability to leap great distances. Dyaelatura is a solitary hunter and spends a majority of its time alone until it pairs with another to remain with as long as they live. They are very picky with partners and can take many years to find one. „
~ In-game Description
Dyaelatura are roughly as smart as ravens.
Dyaelatura are drawn to bright colors and often will pick off colorful feathers, scales, frills, etc, off of larger creatures for fun. Paired Dyaelatura will often gift these to each other.
Their attraction to color makes them particularly more susceptible to being lured by flashier predators.
