I've noticed that a lot of people here get manipulated and don't realize it until after. So here's a list of common manipulative phrases to recognize:

“That's not what I said.”
You cannot tell me what I heard and if it's not then what did you say?

“You shouldn't feel that way.”
You have no right to tell me how to feel.

“You're overreacting!”
Don't tell me what an overreaction is.

“You made me do this.”
I can't make you do shit.

“I said I was sorry! What more do you want from me?”
I'm supposed to automatically forgive you? Nah.

“You're too sensitive.”
Sensitivity is a good thing. Get some.

“You'd do it if you loved me.”
Don't tell me how to love you, I'm not doing shit I don't want to.

“You're paranoid.”
And what if I am? There's nothing wrong with that and I trust my instincts.

“Why are you so dramatic?”
Define dramatic, is it a synonym to right? There's nothing wrong with my reaction.

“We shouldn’t talk about this now because…”
Well when should we? Because you clearly don't want to address the issues here.

“I love you and will do anything to make this work.”
Seriously? Using the fact that you love me to try and force me to stay with guilt tripping?

“Your friends are a bad influence on our relationship.”
No, you're just jealous and want to isolate me away from everyone.

“I don’t remember that happening.”
The lies you tell. Then what happened huh?

“Are you stalking me?”
I don't know am I? Should I be?

“That is your problem. Not mine.”
If you're fucking with my head then thats gonna be a you problem when we're over with.

“We can talk when you stop acting crazy.”
I'm always crazy, like bitch

“How many times do I have to say ‘Sorry’? Geez!”
Until you mean it? Tf?

I don't care how many times you tell me I'm wrong on this because these are literally proven by psychology and I can give you my sources. So, I hope I could help someone and watchout for these please <3

You were my first friend on MPP, one i didn't know irl ofc. I really didn't think I'd enjoy the community but you made it all seem a little bit more bearable. We've had our arguments but I've always needed you and you're amazing. I'm so lucky to be in your life and to be around you. yall are not special bc youre gay- move tf onnnnn. youre trans? its not that big a deal. i cant stand people who rrvolve their whole life around the fact of being gqy. as a joke? okay whatever because i do that. but you do not have to bring up the fact that youre bi in every conversation. being gay is a part of your identity, not your whole identity. and its so fucking annoying when people in the LGBTQIA+ community cneter their life around it because lets be real. most of the world is apart of the community in some way. me? im trans and unlabeled. my mom is bisexual. my dad is aromantic. i know people that are trans that are straight. people that are straight that are aroace. like its not something special and dont make a big deal about it. its okay to be straight, its okay to be cisgender.its okay to have older morals, dont get mad bc someonw doesnt like the LGBT community. its a fairly new thing that people want to force other people to accept but its just not gonna happen. and thats comppletely fine.your grandparents may be confused, your teachers nay be confused. as long as people still love you, its okay if they dont support.

storytime, my grandma was at a store, i was yhere with her. the cashier was wearing a they/them pin but they were feminine present so my grandma assumed they were a female. my grandma said miss and the cashier went off callling her a homophpbe, a transphobe and a bitch. yes she was fired but still.

my grandmas 73, shes older. shes open to that, but she doesnt know all that yet. dhe misgenders and deadnames me a lot but shes confused and she always feels like she has to apologize all the time but i tell her its okay. because older people have experiences like that. and yes, this ties into make gay your whole identity. if you find your pronouns at age 15, for 15 years youve gone by another set of pronouns and a different name, and people arent gonna automatically get it.

i found out i was a he/him at age 12 and startee going by it in family at 13. i dont expect them to get it, and it doesnt really matter because i know who i am and im someone outside of the fact im gay lmao.
and ik im gonna get a lot of shit for this but uh.

moral of the story: dont be a dick about being gay/trans

its not funny, its something people struggle with and you have to understand theres people here who likely have family members or THEY THEMSELVES, struggle with thoughts of that. and regardless of whether you do or you dont its a sensitive topic for some people and its not funny. kids tell each other kys as a joke and i dont find that shit funny. i know people who have done that and its not something funny, its something that shouldn't be taken lightly. like im not saying take everything serious but i am saying there are some situations and things that shouldn't be joked about or taken lightly. joking about things that people struggle with isn't funny. it just makes you look like an insensitive dickhead.

i posted this in off-topic but its really not off-topic, its something that happens everywhere and i could go on for hours about how bad it is and how pissed off it makes me but yeah.

All in all, stop being insensitive and have a heart and think about shit before you type it.
