@MrSci no realism, they’d just be copying mods, and that’s all they have really been doing nowadays, which is why they’ve been cautious about which features to add. They’re already working on archeology, I’m pretty sure that’s as good as it gets.

@MrSci they already sent it out to windows 10 players
-
@The-Overseer its already been done. so like yeah

Edward Williams I think I’m just thinking of a game that doesn’t exist yet…but ty for your feedback ^^

No because it’s not even Minecraft anymore it’s just gonna be a completely different game and I don’t think that’s gonna be any fun

@MrSci The thing about updates is that they are universal to the game and that means that everyone has to play with them. The reason this kind of thing isn’t implemented as an update specifically is because the majority of Minecraft players prefer the low-poly pixel graphics that the game already has. On top of this, realistic graphics as an update would mean that Mojang would probably have to hire a whole new graphics team, or the existing graphics team would have to work a lot harder for things added into the game.
Additionally, players using older consoles, or weaker computers or cellular devices would struggle to play the game because the graphics would be so much harder to render.I have considered, yknow. What if that was just a higher graphics “option” but if that were the case it would take the Mojang team even longer for each update as they would have to not only update OLD textures, but also the NEW textures. That being said, they could pay extra for an ultra-high definition version of the game like you described and it might be worth it. However, I bet most of the community would be upset with such a decision.
Its a neat idea though!

people usually play games to escape reality

@MrTree I used to program using Lua, so I myself may be able to come up with something. I’m thinking of something like a forest-y environment with a real nature vibe. You’d be able to dig, build, craft, etc
