for anyone going jnto 8th grade, let your friendships change and dont deal with other peoples bullshit. learning to let go is important for the social aspect and planing and time management are important , especially if youre taking highschool courses

@maybenot-finneas and finn my advice for you going into 9th, do not decide not to do your work. always do assignments whenever you can, do your best not to make them late. another thing is try to be present as much as possible because if you have all a-b’s in your classes and less than 3 absences (excused or not) you’re exempt from exams (EVERY CLASS YOU HAVE HAS EN EXAM)

For everyone who’s moving up a grade, it’s important that you do a few things:

            • Always find something to improve. It can be to get better at something you already do, or start doing something you’ve never done.

            • Who cares if you get made fun of for not knowing something. Always ask questions and don’t be afraid. That’s why you’re in school. To learn.

            • Make the effort in your grades. Use your time wisely. If you know you have missing work, do anything to get that work completed. Email teachers, go during lunch, and ask before or after school. Teachers love when they see students putting in effort, and they might even cut you slack next time :)

            • Go to your supports. If you are struggling, find someone to talk to at school. That could be a friend, teacher, or even the janitor lol. School is a social environment. You are never alone.

            • Talk to your teachers! They are humans too, so why not hang out with them with your friend group or even alone? I had a few teachers that just chilled with a bunch of students during lunch and it was really nice. Teachers aren’t always the big boss who want to fail you. I noticed the students that were for friendly with their teachers had an easier time being in class since they could joke more.

Advice for going into ninth: the less friendships you have, the more time you have to crank that P.E. grade.

                    Advice for 9th :
It will be a big change from 8th ill tell ya BUT once you start to get the hang of your schedule you’ll figure out how to handle all your classes. ik its not the same for all schools but i had 7 classes
and i thought im going to die but i went with the flow and took things slow. Having friends in your class is great and all but there’s a limit to that being distracted by your friends.
Also make sure you do your work!! A lot of my class mates found out the hard way that if you don’t do your work your grade WILL go down . So if you do your work even tho u might not want to .Do it, you will feel so much better doing it than not
ALSO Make sure you STUDY FR, i learned that if you study for like 15 mins a day for a week before your test/quiz, instead of cramming it in, will help soooooo much better. you will know the material and you also won’t have a fried brain by the time you have the test/quiz.
I also would like to say if there is an extra credit assignment TAKE it Fr those helped me soooo much this year, bc you wont know that u need it until you need it and cant do it so do it while you have the chance
