My regular outfit at school is either leggings and a tshirt with a zip-up or straight-up pajamas, and nobody bats an eye. Then again: I’m a senior, so I don’t think they would care regardless xD

I don’t see myself ever wearing anything that shows too much skin while I’m away from home, considering my physique (which I’m working my ass off to get to where I want to be) isn’t great. Medical stuff doesn’t help because HRT can make my weight go absolutely wild and either increase or decrease my weight, but that’s a risk I was, and still am, willing to take with being trans. Being in America at all also doesn’t help, despite the fact that I’m on the opposite side of the extreme obesity rates. New York is wild.
Anyway, there’s this one kid at my school who wears outfits that are more like not actual clothes and just paper, either being practically see-through or barely there to begin with; still hasn’t been dress-coded. They’re basically an attachment to their boyfriend’s body, basically ON TOP of him 24/7; to the point that the librarian had to yell at them.
Probably a controversial opinion - Ripped jeans/pants are a scam. You’re paying more for less fabric.

Can you wait until your finances are ok enough to get your MTF stuff like hrt and surgery??
Or can you only be at a certain age?

I started HRT at 16, a few months before turning 17 last year. It’s complicated as hell but sooooo worth it. My insurance covers my t-blockers and estrogen :3
For surgery: I think I have to pay, but my insurance might help. I was told there’s a whole process you need to go through first, but I’ll learn about it more when I finally get to that point in my life.
Also, what do you mean when you say you were trans before?

I was exploring my identity, I thought I was trans but being a boy didn’t fit. Sorry If it sounded like i was practiclly choosing my gender LOlll
That also caused me to loose my Bf at the time then months later, he apologized for breaking up with me, telling me that he’s Bi.

My experience was similar in regards to experimenting with identity, and I’l end up making a post about it at some point in the stories category or whatever it’s called.

its totally personal bias, but I think basing if its “unfair” or not just based on what options for clothing is denied by a dress code isn’t a fair comparison, because societally speaking there’s less options for guys to be seen as socially acceptable anyways.
At my school we have a uniform, so everyone has to wear the same thing, except girls are also allowed to wear skirts with shorts under if they want, and girls don’t have to wear belts, or ties. On the other hand, guys have to cut their hair if its too long, be clean shaven every day, wear ties once a week, blah blah blah.
No one is allowed to wear non-uniform jackets or anything, even though its been below freezing almost every day now. I personally love wearing jackets, tee-shirts, and unique socks but none of those are an option for anyone.
That being said that’s just my school, and I’ve never attended a public school before but I know its totally different! -

Strict uniforms are kind of dumb in my opinion. Why force students to wear the same outfit every day? Why not just allow students the freedom to wear whatever and enjoy their younger years of life?

I mean, to be fair, people get made fun of at my school at least once every year no matter when they do the out of uniform days. On the other hand, they’ve sold $3 out of uniform passes to raise over 1000 dollars for a local charity that provides food to less fortunate people over the holidays. We’ve done that a few times, and to be honest if the cost of helping other people in that way is wearing the same thing every day, I’m willing to give up that freedom. -

I’m…not really comfortable sharing any photos of myself, but my appearance hasn’t changed substantially since beginning HRT, mainly just complexion of the skin and hair growth.
The reason is pretty self-explanatory if you read my bio.

@alex I remember when i was in 3rd grade, middle of summer, and I had a sweater on, but a 2 inch wide strap sleeve underneath that was against elementary school rules (as if anyone had anything they had to worry about kids covering up at that age though). I took off the sweater in class and despite it being hot, I was scolded and told to put it back on. I still feel that was an unfair moment to enforce that rule on me.

Sheesh. Not related to the topic at hand (dress code), but in 5th grade I had accidentally made a swastika out of little connecting bricks, thinking it was a ninja star or something. I didn’t know anything about history at this point, and was extremely confused when I was scolded and banned from messing with the blocks for a while. Only recently (a few years ago) learned what it was, and I feel rather violated for not being educated with a scolding from a teacher.

@alex ngl I’ve been thinking, First time I’ve said this to anyone but myself, but since march 14th 2023, I haven’t felt… Nonbinary. Nor trans. Like I feel more fem. So I was thinking for a while to try out Demigirl, See how presenting as a demigirl feels, and how society feels about it.
I’m actually a but scared to say it here ngl.
Even till this day, i’m still finding myself.

Whatever you find yourself to be will always be valid as long as you are comfortable with it.
I also remembered that I do have an image of myself that I wouldn’t mind sharing because it’s from around 2019, before I actually properly came out, so my hair was substantially shorter at the time, and I looked like I had just gotten high off my ass. Hence the name “Blaze (alias at the time) but high”.
I would just need to find the image somewhere. I know it exists; maybe on an old phone?
