Technically she didn’t steal it, the original song was written for Miley Cyrus but she denied it, so instead it was given to Brit Smith, which she recorded and filmed but decided not to release it. So now, Jojo decided to buy the song, so she does own the rights to it. So you can’t exactly steal something that Brit Smith has no claim over considering it was unreleased and Jojo bought it. But Jojo did say she wrote it, so she is lying, but she didn’t necessarily steal it.
But if you hear the unreleased song by Brit Smith, the song isn’t even that bad. Jojo just made it sound bad, Brit Smith’s version is so much better and I wish she had released it officially.
