DO NOT STEAL MY STORY!!
Silent noise
It was a typical Saturday night in the small town of Hillcrest. The only noise to be heard was the sound of crickets chirping in the fields.
As the clock struck midnight, Rachel was in the middle of walking home from her shift at the local diner. She was looking forward to crawling into bed and getting some much-needed rest.
But as she made her way down the deserted main street, she couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching her. She quickened her pace, her heart racing with fear.
Just as she was about to turn onto her street, she heard it. A faint, high-pitched whine seemed to be coming from all around her.
Rachel’s blood went cold as she Spun multiple times. She had heard about this phenomenon, the “silent noise.” It was said to be a sign of danger, a warning of something terrible to come.
She started to run, her feet pounding against the pavement. She had to get home, had to lock the doors, and had to hide.
But as she reached her front porch, the noise grew louder and more intense. Rachel fell to her knees, covering her ears and screaming in pain as the sound pierced her ears to a point of deafness.
And then, as suddenly as it had come, the noise stopped. Rachel layed there, panting and shaking, her mind racing with fear.
What was that noise? And what did it mean? She knew that she had to find out before it was too late.
As she stumbled to her feet and Hurried inside the house, Rachel vowed to uncover the truth behind the “silent noise.” She had a feeling that it was only the beginning of a long, terrifying journey. Rachel locked the door behind her and leaned against it, trying to catch her breath. She had never experienced anything like that before, it had left her shaken to the core.
She made her way to the living room and collapsed on the couch, trying to calm her racing thoughts. What could have caused that strange noise? And why had it stopped just as suddenly as it had begun?
Just as she was starting to doze off, Rachel heard a knock at the door. She froze her heart racing once again. Who could it be at this hour?
She hesitantly made her way to the door and peered through the peephole. To her surprise, she saw her neighbor standing on the porch, a worried look on his face.
Rachel opened the door, relieved but still on edge. “What’s going on, Mr. Johnson?” she asked, her ears still slightly ringing.
“Have you heard that noise?” he asked, his voice laced with fear. “It’s been going on all night. It’s like a high-pitched whine that just won’t stop. I’ve tried to ignore it, but it’s driving me crazy.”
Rachel’s heart skipped a beat. It wasn’t just her imagination, then. The noise was real, and it seemed to be affecting everyone in the town - or maybe… Just them?
“I heard it too,” she said, her voice shaking. “It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was almost like it was coming from inside my head.”
Johnson nodded gravely. “I’ve heard rumors about this kind of thing happening before,” he said. “It’s said to be a sign of something terrible on the horizon. Some disaster or event that will change everything.”
Rachel’s mind raced with possibilities. Could it be a natural disaster - or was it something more sinister, like an attack by a foreign power?
She knew that she had to find out the truth. And so, with Johnson by her side, she set out to uncover the mystery of the “silent noise.” It was a journey that would lead them down a dark and dangerous path, one that would test their courage and determination.
But Rachel was determined to see it through to the end, no matter the cost. She had to know what was causing that strange, terrifying noise, and how to stop it before it was too late. Rachel and Mr. Johnson spent the next few days scouring the town for any information about the strange noise. They talked to everyone they could, from the local librarian to the town council.
But no one seemed to know anything about the “silent noise,” and the high-pitched whine continued to plague them night after night.
Just when they were starting to lose hope, they go to the last person they could find. An elderly woman claimed to have experienced the same thing decades ago.
Rachel and Mr. Johnson rushed to the woman’s bedside, their hearts racing with anticipation. This could be the break they had been looking for.
“I remember it like it was yesterday,” the woman rasped, her voice barely above a whisper. “The noise was everywhere, but nowhere at the same time. It was like it was inside my head. I thought I was going mad.”
Rachel leaned closer. “Do you know what caused it?” she asked.
The woman weakly nodded, her eyes full of fear. “It was the old well in the town square,” she said. “There was something down there, something that made that terrible noise. It was like it was calling to me. it’s because it was calling to me. A little girl died in that well from screaming for days. nobody seemed to hear her. Now, the girl’s restless soul screams every night at the same time she died to lure the greedy and heartless beings down the well to die the same tragic death she did.”
It was hard to believe, but at this point, she was willing to consider any possibility. Any possibility to make the noise stop? -
