Now, I’m no relationship expert. I got real lucky when it comes to my wife. But believe it or not things between her and I weren’t always easy.

I think its important to communicate these things with your significant other. If you don’t have confidence that your 4 hour distance is going to hold up, you should say something about it to him. Talk it out, maybe you guys will be able to come up with some way of seeing each other more often, but you won’t know unless you talk to him about it.

Now concerning this other guy. In my opinion it’s not healthy to have guys on a waiting list. If you truly want a relationship to work, you’ll focus your time and energy at one person at a time. If you convince yourself there’s an “Option B” before your current relationship is over, then your current relationship will not work out, because in your mind, you already have a way out, so your full effort won’t go into your current relationship.

Now with all that being said, I’ve seen people make relationships work being across the world from each other, long distance relationships are always tough but it’s all about commitment, what are you two willing to do in order to make it work. If you are truly afraid he’s going to cheat, talk to him, have a deep conversation about what he feels. I think you should try to make it work, before you write anything or anyone off. You never know how much you need someone, until they’re gone.

Like I said, I’m no relationship guru. But I do have a fair bit of experience and I hope you take some things I’ve said into consideration.

      Have a nice day!
