Just a little wake up call

So when me and my brother were little, we used to watch weird horror movies and theories and TikTok’s. I pretty much thought that everyone was trying to kill/hurt me.
I grew out of that phase but I remember everything.
Earlier this week, random people were walking in houses from the back door and robbing them. Now like every time I go through the front door or back door someone is always screaming at me to lock it.
Just now all of the adults were talking and my sister was in her room. My dog started being annoying so I let her out and I went back to watching tv. My dog barked some time later and I let her in and locked the door. Again, I sat down and watched tv again.
But then I heard something tip toe up the stairs from outside. And I almost shit myself.
Usually my brother is there and he wips out his knife and it’s just a rat or a squirrel but no, it was human footprints. I was kind of frozen at first but then I crawled out of the room, so they didn’t see me.
But then, they tapped on the windows, hard and I was going to scream my lungs out. Then they started beating on the back door and trying to force it open. I was stuck in place. A minute or so went by and I heard a voice but it was muffled and deep.
Finally the person looked through the window and it was my mom. I will never sit alone at night in that room again.
