Somebody help me with my sister's homework please 🙏

Istg it isn’t my homework
My mom normally helps my sister with homework but today she didn’t understand and came to me. Only problem is I suck at this kind of stuff
Please help me I will forever be thankful

@Miss_Americana Oh, and we already know the answers, we have the lesson guide. What we don’t understand is how to make my sister understand.

@Miss_Americana What might help her is to have a step by step list of how to solve the problem. That could be her guide to solve future problems. Like step one, lay out the formula needed. Step two, multiply. You can also tell her to think of the shapes more like if they were divided up so it is less overwhelming. Maybe take a pencil and divive them up yourself so she can have more of a visual. Then, if she sees you only work on a section at a time rather tackling the crazy shape all together, maybe it wont seem so hard.

@Duchess I was thinking of doing that, the problem is I myself don’t even know how to do it. Like I have no idea what to add what to multiply or if you even have to multiply.
-
@Miss_Americana WHATTT THE FUCK IS THAAAt
-
@Miss_Americana Oh, alright. Well when finding the area, you have to multiply.
The formula to find the area of a squarw of rectangle is height x width. You do that with all sections you divide. All sections should be a complete shape of its own.
Like number 2 on that page. On the left of the shape there’s that box on the sode of the bigger box. It says 4m amd 3m. So do 4m (the height) x 3m (the width). That gives you 12m. And the other box, 10m x 7m. That is 70m. Then you just add the answer to both shapes together. 12m + 70m = 82m
If im wrong, Im sorry. I did my best to double check this.

Also, if you come across any triangles, the formula is base (bottom numner of the triangle) x height divided by 2. The reason you divide by 2 is because say you have two triangles, them put together will make a rectangle. So if you know how to find the area of a rectangle or square, you can find the area of a triangle if you just divide.

@Duchess Omg you’re right, thank you sm Duch
