The book is called Delirious

Delirious tells the story of Alex, a young man struggling with debilitating depression. In an effort to alleviate his symptoms, Alex is prescribed a powerful new medication by his doctor. Despite being warned to take the medication only as directed, Alex becomes desperate for relief and begins increasing his dosage. As his body adjusts to the increased levels of the drug in his system, Alex begins experiencing vivid and disturbing hallucinations. He becomes convinced that there is a mysterious figure following him, intent on causing him harm.

As the lines between reality and fantasy blur, Alex finds himself spiraling into a state of paranoia and fear. Unbeknownst to him, however, the “killer” he fears is actually just a manifestation of his own subconscious mind. Driven to the brink of madness by his escalating hallucinations, Alex begins acting out violently towards those around him. It isn’t until a tragic confrontation with his loved ones that Alex finally realizes the truth - he has become the very thing he feared all along.

Throughout the novel, readers will be left questioning whether or not the events they are reading are truly occurring or simply products of Alex’s increasingly distorted perception of reality. Ultimately, Delirious serves as both a cautionary tale about the dangers of self-medication and a gripping exploration of the human psyche.
