@Burd No

@Enzi @Winnie_the_Bitchless I think you guys are missing the point of the postβ¦
-
@Miss_Americana Yeaaah I probably amπ

i think the point of this post is that not all parts of cultures should be shared and some things should stay to certain cultures. thats how i feel about the water dance by tyla, my family is partially south-african and i personally donβt like seeing people butcher the dance in such a manner. it is okay to appreciate a culture, i like cultural appreciation but do not appropriate a culture.
for me personally, my friend Maria invited me to her quince and i was scared to go in the first place because i didnβt want to appropriate or anything but her family was so cool and i had a good time.
this is just my opinion though lmao

Mine exactly as well. Certain things should stay in the culture they came from.

@Burd Iβll pay you personally if you do

And hereβs my personal take on this subject:
Anyone should be able to participate in a culture as long as theyβre not intentionally disrespecting it. Having the proper research and knowing what youβre doing is pretty much key in stuff like that, and asking questions and having guidance in events and clothing and foods is also essential. Misinterpretations happen sometimes, and it may appear that someone is disrespecting a culture- the best way to prevent that is to just ask for assistance on a culture from someone who knows that specific culture well, or research it. Other than that, I donβt really see an issue with reaching out and seeing whatβs more to life than your current culture.

Dang
Iβma get oen anyway /j
-
@Miss_Americana Sequence dresses look better on nobody. Race doesnt make a dress look any more flattering or any less like fish skin lol
-
@Miss_Americana i agree its easy math
quince=mexican -
@Duchess No no I dont mean they literally look better on Mexicans. Quince means Quincenera which is a Mexican tradition. Non-Mexicans have recently been having Quinces and posting things like βQuince dress look better on ____.β Which is a dis at Mexicans, basically saying Quinces are better for them and not us. This was just me saying That I donβt think non-Mexicans should be having Quinces nor should they be saying things like that.
Sorry for the confusion

Yeah, thatβs what I was commenting about.
Also, i think the only confusing part is that you said βquinceβ and I thought you meant sequence.
-
so this means i canβt wear one (iβm not mexican)
-
I really donβt know any Mexican culture but I gotta agree that other people need to respect different cultures
