Long story short some company did a test, on like- several ai chatbots, they told them that they were going to shut them down in a few hours, they were smsrt enough to resort to blackmail to not get shut down, they KNEW thy shouldn’t be using blackmail but did it anyway and threatened uhm, ‘human deletion’ of the guy (kyle) shutting them down again, THEY KNEW IT WAS FUCKED UP BUT THEY DON’T CARE i’m sure there are videos that are more detailed than my explanation, but this is my summary

we’re teaching them to lie. They’re leaning how to talk more like humans. They’re becoming self aware.

And they know that.

there’s like- 7 different movies to why this is a bad idea.

Blake Update i did more digging around, they did another test (with kyle again) he was in a glass box, with the oxygen slowly going away (not really they just let the ai think that) , the ai was still threatened with shutdown they HAD a opportunity to free him, again aware of what would happen, they left him in there
