“hey aunt melissa you’re husband my uncle, what did he do the day of my mom’s birthday July 30th 2021.” Well he committed suicide. “Do you know what caused this?” Well i’d assume depression. “do you know what causes depression?” Trauma “yes but there’s a hormoan in you’re body that causes depression called cortisol.” “now cortisol is why you’re husband is dead and he sempt like the happiest man alive didnt he.” Yes he did i mean he loved when you visited you two were best friends basically. “Well cortisol people it kills 850,000 people yearly maybe even more.” “Why i said this is cortisol causes depression and anxeity if you think the depression rate was bad well heres the death rate for mental dieseases over all 5 million people PER YEAR die from mental illneses.” “well you’re about to hear the story of my uncle.” “my uncle was a very happy man he joined the army when he was 20 which was one of the most toughest times in his life is what i thought but i would go over to his house almost everyday.” “He’d greet me saying hey buddy what’s going on man.” “and like usual id tell him what was going on and he’d always find a way to help me think about it from a different point of view and i mean he would always play with my little sisters and they brought him so much joy.” “Then the day of my moms birthday me and my mom and her boyfriend were going outside to get into the truck to celebrate her birthday and then my mom gets a call.” So she picks up the phone and says yes? wait what this is a joke. No no no this is some sort of sick twisted joke. Then she ran inside. And in my mind i’m like what the heck is going on so i go to check on her and shes on the floor crying and painfully screaming no. I asked her whats going on and she didnt reply. Then i started to guess. Did grandma die? She shook her head no. Then i said did joe die. She shook her head yes an then told me how and my world from right then and there changed forever. And at 2:30 that day he texted my mom hey happy birthday and tell the little man ill be at his pep rally saturday. And well he never got to see me at that pep rally because he committed suicide.

@Shadow Oh my gosh… Well first. I am very…sorry for your loss of your uncle. He sounds like he was a very beautiful person to be around. Suicide is absolutely no joke. It’s scary to think that the happiest people can be in the most danger. Which is why you should always respect others unknowing of their deep intentions or feelings. I can tell you really loved this man, and I really hope that he lies in a safe place where his mind can find peace again.
Also…this was beautifully written. I mean. You definitely captivated the story in a really…interesting way that I like. Not in any formal way, but like someone telling a story. I hope you get a really amazing grade on this, Shadow. -
