spidermeow I honestly highly enjoy researching mental and psychological disorders lol. It’s pretty fascinating to me. I know someone with OCD, and she said it’s like her thoughts take over her brain above her being able to control herself. It’s pretty scary to think. Rituals or compulsions usually go with that to ease stress and anxiety…
“a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears (obsessions) that lead you to do repetitive behaviors (compulsions). These obsessions and compulsions interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress”
Such activities is why you see people with OCD are typically are clean and organized. Because that is usually them obsessing and compulsing through order. Although, you don’t have to be tidy to have OCD. You can have distracting thoughts with anxiety elsewhere that cause you daily obsticals.
Like you said, criticism may be hard to take. It might even eat you up. But It’s naturally not easy to handle being told you’re wrong. Although with OCD, that comes along with anxiety and overanalyzing. For example, someone critiquing something you said. You could probably agonize on that for weeks, and that’s when the OCD attacks you from the inside.
It’s a great idea to do tons of extra research on these things. I would definitely continue looking into it if you have concerns
