Eli slammed a fourth-grader into a locker. The panic-stricken child started crying and muttering, not getting out a single word that anyone could understand. Eli and Elijah were brothers but there was no way to tell, they looked completely different. Eli looked American and spoke with no accent, he also had bright white hair. However, his brother looked like an Italian with a strong accent. He had brown curly hair that went over his eyes. Both boys consistently wore expensive button-up clothing, they always had a few buttons undone trying to show off their ab’s. They both were bullies at Highgate Learning and Preparatory school. No one in school was brave enough to stand up to them.
Finally, Eli let go of the fourth-grader, making him fall to the floor, quickly he got up and ran away. It seemed as if the whole school was watching, “What are you looking at?!” Eli said with a glace that could stop time. Everyone returned to what they were doing as if nothing had ever happened. Just then, Elijah strolled through the school doors with his third girlfriend that week. This time, the girl was a thin blond. Looking very harassed, she held Elijah’s hand unwillingly.
“He’s just using her..” Harley mumbled. Harley was an average, almost non-existent person. She had long locks of brown curly hair with cute fluffy bangs. She was very short, and so was her temper. Although she had a soft heart (especially for animals,) not being afraid to speak whatever came to her mind got her in more trouble than she wanted.
The bell rang and everyone quickly walked to their next classes. Just as Harley was speed-walking just like everyone else, her whole pile of books fell! Complaining under her breath, as she picked up her math notebook, a large warm hand slid over hers, the hand had a large scar on it. Harley yipped and took her hand back, surprised that someone was there, she looked up to see Elijah! She looked into Elijah’s vibrant blue eyes, afraid that he might taunt her, Harley picked up her books quickly and walked away with her head held high. Feeling someone watching her, she didn’t look back. Later in class, all Harley could think about was a way to get back at him.
He really thinks just because I’m a girl, I need help?! I’m going to prove him so wrong that he’ll run back to his mother crying that a female is better than him!
Harley opened the door to her house, and her little sister Ava came dashing into Harley’s arms, hugging her tightly.
“AAHH! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!” Ava excitingly said.
“Missed you too bestie!” Harley responded, trying to hold the strong urge to smile with every inch of her mouth.
As always, Harley was going to ask Ava how today went, they’d both go to Harley’s room and tell stories and play, then dinner would be ready and their whole family would sit down and eat together. Even sometimes Harley and Ava went back to the room and told scary stories and have sleepovers in each other's rooms, but a woman’s voice came from the kitchen before she could speak. “AVA!! HARLEY!! COME IN HERE! SOMEONE WANT’S TO MEET YOU!” The kid’s Mother yelled.
Confused, as their mother never brought anyone over, Harley glanced down at Ava with a ‘what does she mean? Who is over at the house?’ kind of look. The little girl answered the question the best she could, Ava giggled and pulled Harley’s hand in a leading sort of way. Harley walked into the kitchen, still holding her little sister’s hand. To her surprise, Ava let go of her older sister's hand, still giggling, and ran over to someone that was behind a man (who Harley was unfocused on and couldn’t tell who it was), and into someone’s arms. When Harley tried to see who picked up her precious little sister, Harley saw it, the boy’s hands. The hand was large and had a deep scar on it. She knew who this was, her eyes looked like slits glaring at the hand. Elijah looked around the man and stopped smiling immediately when he saw Harley. She was happy that he was scared of her!
