Zachary sat on his bed, mindlessly scrolling on his phone watching how perfect everyone’s lives were, wishing that was him. He tried daydreaming slightly, imagining how his life could be perfect and nothing bad happened. He lost it as soon as he heard the door click open. Marco peeked through. Zachary snapped out of his perfect little imaginary life, trying not to lose it.
“Hey, uh- me and the boys are going out to get some pizza. Wanna come?”
Zachary shook his head, not wanting to socialize.
“Aight. seeya.”
Marco shut the door, and soon Zachary heard Marco’s car revving and pulling out of the water saturated driveway. He was alone, with his thoughts.
Trying not to starve himself, Zachary got up, deciding to make something quick and easy to eat. But soon realizing he wasn’t hungry, he went back to his room.
Zachary texted Marco, seeing when he’d be home
‘hey. what time r u gonna b home?’
No response. Marco was probably busy. Again.

Marco came home late, around 1 am.

“I’m home!”
He shouted, but to no opening door or Zachary peeking out over the couch.

He walked in the kitchen, nothing. The utensil drawer was opened though.
He opened Zachary’s room, and there he was…
Lying dead on his bed.
