Okay so, growing up, my grandma’s house was always the same house, so I’ve always considered my childhood home as the homes I had were always inconsistent. But there’s always been a pattern there, the neighbors on the left always had kids or a kid and would be friends with us, but the right side always had weird creepy neighbors. Like weird, and I have so many stories on so many different families that lived there, so I’m gonna start with the earliest.
I was about 5 maybe 6 and my cousin was probably 8 or 9, I forget. Anyway, it was basically sun down already, the sky was yellow but it was bright enough to be outside, so me and my cousin went out alone (very important later on) to play with toy cars. We were literally out there for like 2 minutes when I got a weird stomach feeling. I still get that feeling to this day, it’s kind of tingly and it low key kinda hurts. My cousin (Lets call him E) looked up at me and asked if I felt like I was being watched. I said yeah obviously because I did and he stood up, called for his older brother and looked around. He was always the type to look out for those younger but he always made sure to have a back up just in case. I stayed sitting down just watching E. Eventually, I stood up and called for his older brother as well cause he never came out. We look to both neighbors, we have the ones to our right and the ones behind us, nothing. Now, super important note, the fence back then needed fixing desperately, it was falling apart and there were cracks and stuff. I didn’t see anything nor hear anything from what I remember, but randomly, E told me to go inside and he pushed me inside and we both went in, locking the door. He ran to the living room where everyone was and I never heard what they said, I stayed at the door looking outside (it was a clear door.) My uncle and older cousin came running and ran outside looking around, my grandpa and other uncle went out moments later. For a while they just stood out there talking, then came back in. Later, I found out E saw someone moving between the cracks on our neighbors side. Normally you’d think they were just normal people outside in their own backyard, no, that wasn’t the first time. My older cousin had felt the same feeling before and my uncle even caught someone staring above the fence once.
I recently talked to my cousin about this event and he pointed out that only one person used to live there, he was an oldish man who had many assault cases and even pedo reports. My uncle told him, I don’t know how my uncle found out, but after he moved, we never got that feeling at that house ever again. I really do question what could’ve happened if E never asked if I felt the way I did. Our parents were so caught up, anything could’ve happened to either of us. It doesn’t sound like the biggest “oh he was gonna kidnap you” kind of story, but if we’re being honest, we could’ve been. He could’ve hopped the fence randomly or something, you never know. Ever since I never go outside in that backyard alone, even at my age. Too spooky.
