trigger warning: a bit of violence + gore

      1

March 23, 2018, the school day has just ended and then comes dismissal. Since Sylvie and Cary’s home are near the school grounds, they walked. “How was your class?” Noticed, Cary looked at Sylvie, excited. “It was great. Did you hear tomorrow we will go camping? For a week, too!?” Sylvie was absentminded. “Oh, yeah. Did you pay the fee?” “Of course I did.” Sylvie smiled. “Good, we want to stay together.”

A little later at Elaine’s house, she was studying when she got a call from her tutor mate, Kal. Elaine answered. “Hey, Kal. What’s up?” Kal looked a bit nervous but excited. “Oh, I am good. How about you?” “Excited because a camping trip is basically tomorrow.” “Well, uhm… I do feel a bit nervous.” “Why? What is on your mind?” Elaine looked confused at Kal through the camera. “It’s just that there might be a killer, and I don’t wanna be dead young.” “Do not worry, I have mastered forensics. Maybe I can help you out?” “It’s okay.” “Alright. Anyway, I will keep studying for an essay I have to do. See you tomorrow?” “Bye!” Elaine hung up, and kept writing.

At 5:00 pm, an emergency alert popped up while Flora was watching the television. “Hmm?” It is about a killer on a camping site. Flora looked familiar about that site, and realized it was the same. “Oh no. No no no no.” She ran quickly to take her phone and come back to use the camera. Flora then took a picture and sent it to her group chat, surprising her friends as they viewed it. “Is this true?!” Mila replied. “Yes, it is…” Flora typed, responding to Mila. No one responded, but then Ben and Elaine typed. “No… Not Kal!” Elaine responded. Little later, Ben responded next. “Good luck because I did not pay the fee.” All were feared except Ben. “Kal’s theory was true…” Elaine said after.

The next day, school starts. As each went to their homeroom, Sylvie approaches Cary. “Hey… promise to not tell anyone?” “I trust you anyway.” Sylvie whispers in Cary’s ear. “I might be feasting to kill. I don’t know who is forcing me, but I need to think of something else! What do I do…” The bell rang just after. Cary and Sylvie ran to their class.

Focusing on Jane’s classroom, she called out a message. “Good morning everyone, today is the camping trip. Since a killer is prone to be in our site, these radios will be sent out to the rest of the class. If you already have one, raise your hand now.” Cary has a walkie talkie, but is in this class. Sylvie too, but not in the class. Cary raises his hand. “Thank you Cary. Now, I will give everybody else the rest of them.” Mrs. Jane gives out the walkie talkies to everybody except for Cary, and each person who receives them puts it in their backpack. “Alright. Everyone, line up. Be safe.”

After they made it through three hours to the site, Mr. Lopez was there, waiting. All the 30 members sat down surrounding the campfire and put their backpacks next to them. Some who did not get a seat on the log sat on the floor. The teachers left.
“Welcome and salutations to Camp Valdes, where everything goes through, goes through.” Sylvie was getting nervous, and that bolded motto filled her mind. “I am Mr. Lopez, camping supervisor, and will guide you on site for the week.” Kal raises his hand. Mr. Lopez calls out to Kal. “Yes?” “Isn’t there a killer on the loose? What do we even do to be safe?” Elaine noticed what he said, and reached out to pause the supervisor. She decided to talk to him. “Kal, don’t worry. I will help you out. Remember, I mastered Forensics?” Kal was still nervous, but let out a phew. “Nevermind, Mr. Lopez.”

Mr. Lopez went over the rules. Then, the members were subjected to make partners of 3 for each cabin as there are 10. Focused on Sylvie, she partnered with Cary and Mila. They picked up their backpacks and went to Cabin 2. After unpacking, Sylvie decided to discuss with the group.

“Hey, uhh. I’m Sylvie.” “First time? Anyways, I am Mila.” “First time, of course.” Sylvie was beginning to lose her own sanity as she wanted to kill, and Cary noticed it too quickly. “Hey, Sylvie.” Sylvie looked at Cary. “Yeah?” “Are you okay? We can talk.” Mila looked sternly. “Hello! I am right here!” Cary and Sylvie looked at Mila confused. “What is going on with Sylvie? I’m just curious.” “Well, uhh-” Sylvie cut Cary off. “I’m fine, yep. Definitely.” Mila looked suspicious. “Alright.”
With Elaine, Kal, and Grace, they were just on their bunk bed. Elaine was taking a nap. Kal was using his drawing tablet. Grace was just writing a journal for the trip. “Elaine?” Kal called. He was in the middle. Kal looked down to see Elaine sleeping, and sighed. “Grace?” Grace didn’t focus on him. Kal was a little lonely, and took a nap.

A time skip to 1:34 am. March 25, 2022. Sylvie was staying up, still getting the motto and the need to kill in her mind. Mila woke up to see Sylvie, on the top, making quiet whimpers. “Sylvie? Are you okay?” “No. I am not. And I can’t tell you already!” “Come on, talk to me. What is in your head?” Mila climbed up the bed to Sylvie. “I have a need to kill. I can’t just kill at a young age. I need to have something to think of already!” Sylvie turns her whimpering to sobs. Mila realized it all. Was Sylvie interested in murder?

“Sylvie. It is not funny.” “Do you think I am joking to you?!” Sylvie yelled out, causing Cary to wake up. “What happened? Did an earthquake happen?” Mila looked at Cary. “No.” “Then what is happening?” “Your friend, you-know-who, needs you.” Cary sighed, and climbed up to the top to comfort Sylvie.

“Sylvie. I’m here. If you want, we can talk about it at the campfire.” “Didn’t the supervisor say we are not allowed to go out after 1:00 am and before 7:00 am?” Cary sighed, and took her out anyway. Mila was concerned, and decided to go back to sleep.

Sylvie decided to go to the cafeteria instead, and Cary tried to stop her. “Sylvie, wait, that is not the right way!” Sylvie ignored him. She grabbed a knife and grabbed Cary by the back of his neck. He is struggling. “Sylvie, what the hell are you doing? Stop!” “Promise not to tell anyone. I have to do this. I need to get it out of my mind. Just do not ever tell anybody.” “Okay! Okay, just let me go!” Sylvie threw Cary down, and ran to another cabin where Gazella, Flora, and Charlie are at.

A little while later, Sylvie is holding Gazella, who is struggling. Cary was horrified. “Sylvie. No.” Sylvie looked at Cary, serious. She proceeded to carry her near the campfire, and slit Gazella’s throat. Cary ran back to their cabin. Gazella was now unconscious, and Sylvie threw her in the fire. Gazella was burned alive. When she was fully dissolved to ash, Sylvie cleaned up, put the still-stained knife back, and ran to their cabin.

Cary was traumatized at what he saw as he now calls it a never-forget memory. He decided not to tell Mila, and just go to sleep. Sylvie also went back inside and went to sleep.
