Bonds can sometimes weaken between one another, but ultimately, you are deserving of the love and happiness that may not have been given to you by your dad, and vice versa.

Shazz_ well he hasn’t had anything to do with me and my brother my whole life basically. He’s an alcoholic abusive piece of shit. I don’t care about him. Told my mom that it wasn’t his job to care when my brother was in a mental hospital for suicidal reasons bc he wasn’t there and it never mattered to him.
But thank you. I’ll try my best to be in a good mood just today isn’t one of them. -

Shazz_ Oh my goodnes yes. My dad and I have, I’d say, a decently good relationship. We joke a lot and tease eachother. He defends me when I need him, and encourages me to succeed. He was in the military for over a decade so his military side has always reflected in his parenting, so we’d argue a lot. But I think that made us have a good relationship in the end actually. I do struggle when he gets in a bad mood, but know why he gets that way so don’t blame him I guess. I wish he didn’t have to be stressed and be put down by the one person that causes him to be so mad. I sympathize with that. Overall I think he’s pretty cool.

@Duchess I really admire the military side of many fathers - none of my parents were in the military, but I can understand how that encouragement and sympathy from a dad like your own can, like you said, reflect all of the great and glory that he has been offering towards you ^^
And yeah, certain things can come in between, but the bonds remain locked :)

Shazz_ Yeah. He kind of raised me roughly and to not expect sympathy from anyone. But it’s alright. That’s probably the one thing about him that’s not really kind. He doesn’t feel bad for people because of his own extremely rough childhood. He goes by the whole “I’ve had it way worse so you can’t complain” thing. But he’s still a chill guy who you can talk to for hours. He listens and takes interest/asks questions about my hobbies. So I can’t complain. Thank you Shazz. I hope you are having a lovely fathers day too
