So my fat cat rascal, he likes peeing on clothes. And yesterday he peed on my $150 jeans. Plus a towel. My mom said if he peed on one more thing, we would have to put him down. And literally not even one hour later, rascal peed on a ton of expensive things. So she had to put the hammer down and say he’s going to go. And I was so sad that I started hyperventilating real bad. On top of it, crying. In the moment I felt like I have no purpose in life. Like he’s my best friend. But then my mom came into my room and said it wouldn’t be fair if only my other cat got to live, because they love each other so much. So we’d have to put him down as well. Which made the situation so much worse, I don’t want to pick favorites but my other cat is way more enjoyable to be with. So I cried my self to sleep. And today, the next morning, my grandma called all us kids to the kitchen. And told us no shelter is willing to want to take them in and they can’t put them down because when we got the cats, we signed a contract saying that we can’t give them away or put them down.
We really don’t know what to do, but we’re going to get some uti medicine for rascal to see if it helps.
I’ve never felt so low before, and I’ve also never felt so happy that we’re not getting rid of them. -
@Lusion One of my cats is somewhat like that too, but it’s only when they’re unable to enter her litterbox, so she has no choice but to do her business on towels that happen to be on the floor, or in the dryer room. That’s mainly our/my mom’s fault but it happens sometimes.
I would absolutely feel the same - I know that both of my cats enjoy eachother’s company, and just putting down one of them would be terrible, even to think about. Relationships with pets are super meaningful, and letting go of that is something that people don’t even want to consider in their minds, I can agree. I’m glad both of them are okay though ^^ -
