Sometimes I Wonder (A poem)
-
Sometimes I wonder if you remember,
those stormy nights in sweet old September.
I lost all I loved
all that I held dear,
Duty - no short of behoved;
with you I had found no fear.Sometimes I wonder how your day has been
but all I can think of is right back when;
Aromatic June breeze
pierced my fragile brain.
As my thoughts freeze,
I had went insane.Sometimes I wonder if you scream my name
as I do yours, broken but still the same.
I cry and I scream
I wish not to bleed,
though it was a dream
It’s hope I do need.Sometimes I wonder if we can slumber
My brain, my thoughts have long since encumbered.
With each day that goes,
I’ll reap what I sow.
And fill our little world with wonder.Happy 2024.

did you do this by yourself?

@RaeTaylor I love how you keep your rhyme pattern of AABCBC all throughout the entire poem! Many people change their pattern mid-way and it loses their rhythm. And the constant syllable pattern as well, I think it’s 10, 5, 6. I really love this poem and it was written really really well.
