The Opposite Tale.

so basically during the betrayal of Lord Oyster selling White Pearl’s pearl to Abalone Cookie, instead of going to the sea fairy tear, she went back to Tearcrown, with Frilled Jellyfish following behind her, she didn’t say a thing, as she didn’t want to annoy White Pearl again, she just, followed on, on full alert just in case.

When they got back to tearcrown, Gold Citrine, Aquamarine, Mystic Opal and Crimson Coral were there, Crimson Coral was contemplating about something until Gold Citrine called out to White Pearl, which startled Crimson Coral, Aquamarine was about to ask what happened to white pearl, but Frilled jellyfish Quickly stopped her by signalling to her behind White Pearl, but then…

“White Pearl, What happened?” -Crimson Coral (CC)

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” -White Pearl (WP)

“You know you can tell us anything. Honestly.” -CC

“Well I don’t WANT to.” -WP

“But you seem furious, really White Pearl.” -CC

“Please, you can tell us,” -Gold Citrine (GC)

“I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!!” -WP

That startled all of them, including frilled jellyfish, who was helplessly watching in the corner.

“My lady… How ab-” Before Frilled Jellyfish could finish, White Pearl turned around, manically glaring at her.

“How about what?” -WP

“W-Why dont we go… to your room… and… uhh… calm… down? I mean… You do seem pretty an- ACK-!” -FJ

White Pearl grabbed Frilled Jellyfish by the collar of her shirt, pulling her closer to herself,

“Listen here. You DUMMY. I don’t NEED calming down. And you need to stay out of this, Sure you’re my servant, but you can STAY OUT OF MY WAY, when I’m annoyed.”

White Pearl continued, until Crimson Coral stepped up,

“White Pearl. Let go of her, NOW,” She demanded harshly.

“Ugh, And why SHOULD I?” -WP
“You’re hurting them,” -CC
“Y-Yeah… Y-You kind of ar-” -FJ
“Shush.” -WP

White Pearl dropped Frilled Jellyfish onto the sand, glaring down at her.

“White Pearl, What has gott-” And as CC was about to finish…

WHOOSH!

The trident of White Pearl swiftly grazed against Crimson Coral, almost hitting her.

“WHITE PEARL?!” -CC
“UGH! IM TIRED OF YOU BOSSING ME AROUND!” White Pearl’s voice dropped to a low, not quiet, but loud tone, the pitch drastically dropping.
Crimson Coral got her trident out and whistled to her black coral seahorse, it dashing almost instantly.

“Ugh. You don’t know WHEN to stop, do you…” White Pearl said with a dangerous growl in her voice, retracting back her trident. “Well you’re hurting Frilled Jellyfish! Your OWN FRIEND!!” Crimson Coral called out, as she said that, White Pearl lunged at her, but Crimson Coral swiftly dodged her attacks.

“It was a mistake to call you my own SISTER,” Crimson Coral harshly said, now that set White Pearl off.

“What. Did. You. Just. Say.” White Pearl stared at Crimson Coral with wide eyes in disbelief, not believing what she said.

“Did I stutter?” Crimson Coral said.

White Pearl immediately froze, staring at Crimson Coral.

“That’s it.” White Pearl said to break the silence, then threw her trident at Crimson Coral, grazing her eye.

“AGGHH!!! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME TO OUR KINGDOM NO MORE! GET OUT!” Crimson Coral cried out, but White Pearl grabbed Frilled Jellyfish by the arm, holding it VERY firmly, then immediately swam off, quickly.

“Wait- FRILLED JELLYFISH COOKIE!” The gem mermaids called out.

“NO! GO GET HER!” Crimson Coral screamed desperately.

But it was too late, White Pearl was off at the depths of the sea, eventually setting at a cave, and letting go of Frilled Jellyfish.

“…Where are we, My la-” Before Frilled Jellyfish could finish, White Pearl brought up her hand to Frilled Jellyfish’s Mouth, covering it.

“No need to call me ‘My Lady’ anymore. Just call me White Pearl.” She bluntly said, then bringing her hand back to herself.

“…Alright… White Pearl… Why did- Oh…” Frilled Jellyfish ended her sentence in realization, holding her frills.

“Ah, you finally realized, Were you EVEN watching?” White Pearl said in annoyance,

“…No… I’m sorry…” Frilled Jellyfish whimpered slightly, and White Pearl scoffed.

“Psh, It’s no bother anyways.” White Pearl scoffed again, glaring down at Frilled Jellyfish.

“What now? We’ve ran away from Tearcrown, My pearls gone. Ah. I know. We. Will. Get. Revenge.” White Pearl declared almost triumphantly,

“Wait… You don’t mean…-” -FJ

“I do mean.” -WPC

“But…-” Frilled Jellyfish tried to protest, but White Pearl brought up her finger, shushing Frilled Jellyfish.

White pearl then spotted a ship outside the cave, and smirked.

Could that be it? Could that be the abalone ship? With Lord Oyster on it?

White Pearl focused sternly on the ship, realizing it WAS the ship with Lord Oyster on it.

“Wait here.” White Pearl turned to Frilled Jellyfish, with a stern expression on her face.

“B-But you might get hurt…!” Frilled Jellyfish remarked.

“Oh… I’ll be fine…” White Pearl scoffed it out, then immediately dashed to the ship, without any fear or non-confidence.

“Wait-!” Frilled Jellyfish called out, reaching a hand out for her, but she was far long gone to the ship.

Meanwhile on the Abalone Ship…

“Come on~… You’re living up to you’re name… totally…” Abalone Cookie remarked sarcastically. Lord Oyster glared at him. clearly frustated because of him.

“For the… SEVENTH time, I am not giving you this pearl.” Lord Oyster retorted. Scoffing slightly.

“Please, I could give you a FORTUNE, A FORTUNE! You can finally help your family out. Come on…” Abalone Cookie tried to persuade Lord Oyster, but was to no avail.

SLAM!! BASH! CRASH!!

“Oi! Who’s crashing on our ship?” Abalone Cookie called out, then realized a familiar shape.

“Hey! It’s them gem mermaids again! Get the harpoons! Get the nets! We’re gonna catch this one for sure!” Abalone Cookie shouted to his crew, smiling in glee.

“KWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” A blood-curdling laugh called out, it was heart-stopping, No, Body-dropping!

“Kowe! What was that?!” Lord Oyster cried out, holding on the railing as the waves were crashing and raging against the boat, rocking it sideways and nearly toppling it over.

Frilled Jellyfish swam out of the cave, trying to find White Pearl and the ship, however, she noticed she was getting a bit far from the cave, and so she decided to go back, praying White Pearl would come back, but then

WHOOSH!

“WHA-” Frilled Jellyfish squealed as a net was washed over her, trapping her in place. She was pulled up to the ship, and the pirates of the ship groaned to find it was just the jellyfish and not the gem mermaid they were looking for.

“RIGHT! THATS WHERE I CROSS THE LINE! CRUMBLE UNDER MY GRASP!!” The voice called on, echoing throughout the seas near Tearcrown, and then the ship crashed and smashed, and suddenly they found themselves sinking, the whole crew started panicking, trying to fix the damages, while White Pearl watched in glee, knowing she WILL get her pearl back.

Heres a tiny secret: Lord Oyster didn’t sell the pearl YET. He was about to, but based off what White Pearl saw, he apparently sold the pearl, which he didnt.

“Gah! Everybody! Get on the lifeboats!” Abalone Cookie shouted. But nobody heard. They were screaming and shouting over eachother, trying to fix the damages.

Finally, after a bit, the ship sank, but the only two- no three people who escaped were Abalone Cookie, Lord Oyster, and… Frilled Jellyfish.

“Frilled Jellyfish? Didn’t I tell you to stay in the cave?” White Pearl retorted, then noticed the ripped net still attached to her, so she brought her hand up and took it off.

“I-I was just worried… something… bad… was about to happen to you…” Frilled Jellyfish whimpered, holding her arm slightly, White Pearl sighed, then grabbed Frilled Jellyfish’s shoulder, giving it a slight squeeze,

“Listen, I’m perfectly fine…” She said with a slight smile, trying to compose herself and Frilled Jellyfish,

“However…” She carried on, giving a hardened gaze at the lifeboat, which Lord Oyster and Abalone Cookie were arguing on it.

“Ugh! Why won’t you just give me the pearl?! If you had just gave it to me from the start, this couldn’t have happened!” Abalone Cookie screamed at Lord Oyster, who was holding the pearl away from Abalone Cookie,

“Because she lit- Uh, ahem-” -LO

“She… gave it to you? That gem mermaid?” -AC

“…Yeah? What? Problem that she gave it to ME and not YOU?” -LO

“Yeah, there is a PROBLEM, Now, GIVE. ME. THAT. PEARL.” -AC

“NO! IF YOU DONT STOP IM GONNA- AHH!” Lord Oyster screamed as he was pushed underwater by Abalone Cookie, dropping the pearl leaving Abalone Cookie to grab it.

“Fuhuhuhu~ Look what we got here…” Abalone Cookie got hold of the pearl, holding it securely in his hand.

“Hold on… Is that Lord Oyster? Why is… he underwater…?” White Pearl was befuddled, because why WAS Lord Oyster underwater?.. Without the pearl, too.

White Pearl quickly swam over to Lord oyster, grabbing him and pulling him above the surface of the sea.

“What the… How is he…? That GEM MERMAID!” -AC

“Hey. It’s you.” -WP

“Huh…? White… cough… Pearl…?” -LO

“Heh… What happened?” -WP

“Abalone… Cookie… threw me off… board…” -LO

“What.” -WP

“cough… yeah… he… got the pearl… I can almost feel myself getting soggy…” -LO

“No no no… I’m not letting that happen.” -WP

“It’s no use… he’s got the pearl now… so we can’t do anything about it…” -LO

“No.” -WP

“Huh?” -LO

“NO. WE ARE NOT… LETTING THAT HAPPEN!” White Pearl immediately started swimming to the life boat, Lord Oyster still in her arms, eventually she landed herself and Lord Oyster on the life boat.

“Huh-?!” -AC

“YOU!” White Pearl screamed, throwing Lord Oyster on board and then gliding to Abalone Cookie, she grabbed Abalone Cookie by the collar of his jacket and pulled him closer to her.

“You. Give me BACK. The Pearl.” -WP

“Hah! To the likes of you. Gem mermaid.” -AC

Abalone Cookie pushes both White Pearl and Lord Oyster off the life boat, before disappearing off the surface and paddling away, with the pearl.

“No… NO! GET… BACK HERE!!!” White Pearl screamed, again, and cursed under her breath, she grabbed Lord Oyster, who was getting soggy and nearly crumbling.

“This is ALL YOUR FAULT! IF YOU HADNT GAVE HIM THE PEARL… THIS WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED!” She took Lord Oyster down, forcefully drowning him.

“WHITE PEARL?!- AGHH!” He tried to struggle against White Pearl’s grip, but to no avail, before eventually passing out, White Pearl then left him on a rock, she didn’t actually want to crumble Lord Oyster, she was FUMING.

Her breaths were laboured, and she turned around, seeing Frilled Jellyfish behind her, watching the whole scene in horror.

“You didn’t see anything… Alright?” -WP

“…Uhh… A…Alright…?” -FJ

“Good, Let’s head back… to… Tear-… The cave. I guess.” -WP

“…Mhm… Lead the way…” -FJ

They headed back to the cave, White Pearl’s breathing calm downed, her heart rate dropped slightly, she was still annoyed, well, REALLY annoyed she didn’t get her pearl back, and the thought of Abalone Cookie selling it just kept lingering in her mind, she couldn’t do anything about it, she couldn’t go too far, because she’d get worried she would get lost, with no way back to Tearcrown, even if she was banned, or the cave.

Frilled jellyfish swam to White Pearl’s side, she seemed… almost worried…? It was quite usual, especially in a situation like this, with Lord Oyster gone, well, not that much gone, just left on a rock, waiting for someone to rescue him, and Abalone Cookie going… to supposedly sell White Pearl’s pearl, there was barely anything to do, White Pearl hated the feeling of it, feeling that much stress on her back, it weighed down on her significantly, but they were able to return to the cave, White Pearl leaned on the wall of the cave, letting out a dissappointed sigh before burrowing her face in her hands.

“My lady… Err… How do I put this… How… do we… How SHOULD we go… back to Tearcrown?” -FJ

“No way, Crimson Coral would crumble us if we came back, well, not YOU.” -WP

Frilled Jellyfish didn’t respond to that, she knew White Pearl had a point to that, and she felt bad for that, she wanted her to be happy. Despite her jubilant mood with White Pearl, she couldn’t help but feel slightly depressed, she wasn’t satisfied with herself, and that wasn’t going clean.

“Uhh… How… about we go look for… food…?” -FJ

“…I’d rather starve.” -WP

“I’d rather you don’t.” -FJ

“Pshh… Why do you even care about me anyways? Have you not SEEN- Ah right, you didn’t, Hmph.” -WP

Frilled Jellyfish was quite addled at that, but she didn’t question it.

“I care about you because we’re friends, and that’s what friends do, isn’t it?..” -FJ

White Pearl nearly teared up at that statement, but quickly wiped her eye.

“Listen… We should… just look for food, otherwise we will starve here, with nobody to rescue us.” -FJ

“Ugh, fine, whatever.” White Pearl pushed herself off the wall, and then standing near Frilled Jellyfish, their height difference were slightly absurd, but they’re used to it.

“Right! Let’s go!” Frilled Jellyfish smiled as she said that, then darted out of the cave, with White Pearl behind her.

Perhaps a few hours later, they satisfied their hunger, then headed back to the cave, where they thought to be staying there for a bit before picking up the courage to go back to Tearcrown.

Frilled Jellyfish sat down against the wall, fidgeting with her frills slightly, before going out into a deep slumber, however, White Pearl was still quite angry, to the point she’s not even tired yet, she wanted revenge on Abalone Cookie, she wanted to go back to Tearcrown, eventually, she started sobbing slightly, the events of the past few days hitting her like a punch to a stomach, it hurt. It really hurt. She wasn’t able to sleep, either, so she just had to stay up the night, sobbing silently to not wake up Frilled Jellyfish. Why didn’t she go to the sea fairy tear? Why did she snap at Crimson Coral and attack her? Those questions just kept screaming at her, she felt absolutely devastated with herself, and it didn’t seem to clench anytime soon.

After a few minutes, she was able to stop and finally fall into a slumber.

White Pearl…!

WHITE PEARL!

“Huh…!?” -WP

She was in her room, everything felt fuzzy, and she felt horrible, again.

“…Why am I back at Tearcrown?..” -WP

She walked out of her room, shutting the door behind her, it was quite light, nobody seemed home, and nobody seemed to have woke her up, like usually happened with Frilled Jellyfish waking her up.

But what was screaming her name? How did she wake up? Why is she… suddenly back at Tearcrown? It was all so unusual for her, she walked outside.

It was all the same, same garden that Aquamarine planted, all the shiny things around Tearcrown by Gold Citrine, and the cave Mystic Opal stayed in, everything. All that was missing, was, basically everything, she then noticed, a boat, very similar to the Abalone ship, she quickly swam up to it. Suddenly, she blacked out.

DREAM END -------------

“Mnnghh… What happened…? Oh… It was just a dream…” White Pearl sighed, it was sunrise, and she woke up before Frilled Jellyfish, which was slightly quite unusual, but expected given the recent situation. the twilight shined into the cave, but she noticed Frilled Jellyfish looked slightly uncomfortable in her snooze, so White Pearl quickly glided to her, and moved her around slightly so that she was more comfortable, she then sat down next to her and waiting for her to wake up.

Meanwhile at Tearcrown…

“I miss White Pearl… It’s been a while since we’ve seen her…” Gold Citrine whined, but Crimson Coral quickly disregarded her.

“It’s for our own good, she’s dangerous now, she’s finally learnt to fight back, and that’s not gonna do well for us,” -CC

“Couldn’t we just talk it out? Because obviously she was only annoyed, supposing by… the war… and the eclipse… and… uhh…” -GC

Aquamarine was off, doing some planting stuff, just as she is, but she overheard the conversation, so that was… pretty bad…

“We couldn’t talk it out, you saw me trying to… Didn’t you…?” -CC

“Well yeah but YOU were the one who said the wrong thing…” -GC

“And what DID I say?” -CC

“Uhh… ‘It was a mistake to call you my own sister’…?” -GC

Crimson Coral immediately stopped, she knew she said that, and she felt bad about it, she looked away, feeling quite flustered.

“Hm, maybe you’re right,” She looked back at Gold Citrine.

“Maybe I should try and find her and apologize… But for this graze…” She put her hand up to her eye, covering it slightly,

“She may have to apologize deeply for that…” -CC

“That’s so unusual however, because why and how did she do it? WHY did she do it? And HOW Was she able to graze YOU? You’re like… fully tra-” -GC

“Stop, stop, I know, and we’re going to find that out, and… Don’t embarrass me like that… honestly…” Crimson Coral scoffed, before adding, “we are going to look for them.”

“Wait- Them? Whos… them? I though- Oh right… Frilled Jellyfish…” Gold Citrine let out a slight sad sigh, before exchanging gazes with Crimson Coral again.

“So… What’s the plan?” -GC

“I’ll send my black coral seahorse first, to see if it’s safe,” -CC

“Does it have a setting that doesn’t hurt people?” Gold Citrine let out a low chuckle when she said that,

“No- It’s not a robot, dumbo,” Crimson Coral said, quite sternly before whistling to her seahorse, it immediately dashing to her, stopping in front of Crimson Coral, she leaned down to its level and whispered something to it, she stood back up, slightly smirking as the seahorse dashed away to find White Pearl.

It was a few minutes later before Frilled Jellyfish woke up, White Pearl had gone off somewhere to find food, and the seahorse seemed to be getting closer to the cave that Frilled Jellyfish was in, meanwhile White Pearl was coming back, holding a pack of algae, for them both to feast on, she saw the seahorse, and immediately noticed it based off the gem on it’s head, she quickly dashed her way into the cave, and noticed Frilled Jellyfish was stirring slightly, she felt a slight wave of content wash over her, and she swam over to her and sat next to her.

“Morning, Frilled Jellyfish,” White Pearl whispered, setting the algae down next to herself and leaning against the wall of the cave, but she noticed that the seahorse seemed to recognize them too, in which she glared at it, then stood up and swam over to it.

“Hm, you’re Crimson Coral’s seahorse… Am I right?” -WP

…However, the seahorse can’t speak, of course, so it just nodded its head slightly, White Pearl let out a low growl at that, she didn’t want to be reminded of Crimson Coral, but now that her… PET, knows where they are, of course it’s gonna report to Crimson Coral where both of them are.

Before White Pearl fully went to it, it quickly dashed away, and White Pearl let out a growl again. What would Crimson Coral do? She didn’t know, so she kept on full alert just in case.

Frilled Jellyfish woke up, and when White Pearl turned around, she let out a shriek of terror, because Frilled Jellyfish was right behind her, she got extremely startled, she wasn’t expecting Frilled Jellyfish just to be there.

“Good morning my lady!” -FJ

“…Remember what I told you?” -WP

“Ah, old habits I suppose…” -FJ

“Hmph, right, I’m getting hungry.” White Pearl’s gaze drifted to Frilled Jellyfish’s… frills…? Then she started back up at Frilled Jellyfish’s eyes, which were closed like usual.

White Pearl scoffed, then hummed slightly, she gently grabbed FJ’s Frills, holding it up, FJ was extremely sensitive on her frills, but since it WAS White Pearl, she didn’t mind that much.
