War of the Worlds (1938) Broadcast was a radio play made by Orson Welles and the mercury theatre on October 30th, where they would present war of the worlds as if it were happening on the air. Millions of people tuned in too late to hear the disclaimer at the beginning, so most of america went into a panic. Hundreds swarmed the streets, farmers shot water towers (thinking that they were alien tripods), and one man arrived just in time to his house to stop his wife from drinking poison (her reasoning was that she’d rather end her own life than let the Martians take it).
This is not that broadcast, this is a remake made by KTAR in Phoenix, Arizona in 1995. This is my favorite version of the broadcast (out of like, 27 remakes), and I hope you enjoy!
