    Okay, WTF is leap day/year?

        @Jeongins_Dropped_Camera A leap year is a year that has one more day added to it - they usually fall on years that can be divided by 4


        It might also have to do with compensating for the length of previous years in some way, to make up for a day

          So once in every 4 years, a day is added to February to keep in sync with the Earthโ€™s rotation around the sun, which takes Around 365.25 days. That means if there was no leap day, the seasons would shift ever so slightly so that in a few decades, summer is in december while winter in august.

            @A38 Now, it isnโ€™t exactly 365.25 days, thatโ€™s too many, so in comes the century clause that states every year that ends with 100 isnโ€™t a leap year, that means 1900 and 1800 werenโ€™t leap years. But that leaves it ever too short, so another clause was added that if a year is divisible by 400 then it is a leap year. So while 1800 and 1900 werenโ€™t leap years, 2000 was.
