it’s okay to be neurodiverse, and this is your reminder of that! i have panic disorder, ADHD and clinical depression. i’ll explain each of these in detail later in this post but i wanted to remind the community that it is okay to be neurodiverse and don’t let anyone tell you different! being imperfect is what makes you, you and our world would be boring if we all were perfect.

here’s a description of my neurodiversities, what are yours?

panic disorder is a condition which causes me to have frequent and unexpected panic attacks. it causes them with no clear trigger sometimes, however, other times it just causes them to be worse in situations that cause me to have anxiety. for example, i will be laying in bed and i’ll end up having a panic attack because of this. i also have agoraphobia which means i will avoid situations where i’ll end up having panic attacks. this disorder was caused by aggressive trauma for me and i got diagnosed with this about 2 years ago. im currently in therapy plus on heavy meds and it’s helping, my last panic attack was about 2 days ago but before that i went 2 weeks without having any which is huge for me.

ADHD which i think is commonly known, i’ll still explain anyways. this condition causes me to be heavily hyperactive and have a short attention span for things. i zone out easily in class, it also causes me to have to constantly be moving and stuff, it’s hard to focus but i’ve gotten better at dealing with it and learning how to keep my attention in class, it’s part of why i wear rings, it helps me fidget to pay attention, i also draw a lot in class. im an auditory/kinesthetic learner so i have to do things like that to stay focused.

lastly, clinical depression, usually depression wouldn’t be counted but mine is due to the fact it’s caused by a chemical imbalance in my brain. i would show you guys the scans but they have a lot of personal info on them that im too lazy to edit out. to put it as simple as possible, theres a lack of neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinerine and dopamine) that balance out my emotions and it just causes me to feel depressed a lot. my antidepressants help with this and it’s starting to get better (only took 7 years of anti-depressants smh)

but yeah, thats all for me. see ya and enjoy the week!

        panic disorder

gonna add that panic disorder is considered a neurodivergency because of the fact that it affects the way that my brain processes anxiety and how anxiety works in my body
