i would also like to be moderator im on mpp everyday unless im at school
-
wasn’t the pre-req for moderators like 16+ or something
-
@DREAMY also people that are brutally honest and get into drama frequently (a.k.a the majority of roleplay room members) shouldn’t be mods- just my opinion of course- people get mad fast and bans just from the room tend to be unnecessary (no offense) so being moderator could make that worse
-
@DREAMY MPP Moderation, Yes. MPPCommunity is… Different.
-
@The-Missing-Eye not at all same issues and more drama
-
No, I meant the age requirements.
-
@The-Missing-Eye ah ok

Ideally we should have moderators that are active members of the community who know people and know what’s going on so they can resolve disputes and flaming by talking to people rather than just banning whoever gets reported, as the administrators do not have the time nor insight to provide the optimal moderation experience. If you think you have what it takes to make this forum a better place for everyone, apply here.
According to this logic, this proves that @Nitsua should not be banning in the ways that they have been. They’ve (from my perspective, always) banned the person (@Knox is a good example) simply after reviewing reported posts. By the time @Knox got banned, she’d, as far as I can see, had only broken the guidelines DAYS before her ban-time started. She was banned in the first place for telling people to “kill themselves.” But, after her ban-time ended, she never did anything like what she did again and probably never will. This could’ve all been solved in the first place, though, if a moderator just talked with her. Oh, and by the way, she claims to be 11 years old. She would’ve probably listened if a moderator had a conversation with her about what happened rather than a mod simply banning her without warning.
I know @Knox’s online presence and personality quite well, in case you didn’t know already.
My point?
If you’re a moderator, please, please talk with the suspect first before banning them. In my mind it would make the community at least somewhat of a less toxic and more stable place.
Thank you for reading. -
@Laws
- I already explained my reasoning and reasons why talking to the “suspect” isn’t always needed/applicable.
- There are more admins/moderators than just me
- You can’t see who banned who
- With your logic if a person committed a crime, let’s say, a pedophile, me banning them multiple days later after the “incidents” is unjustified

Yes, it was and still is (At least on the site itself, although I think this should apply here as well)
-
@Nitsua Are you saying that Shazz_ shouldn’t be a moderator? He’s only 15.
-
@Laws well lapis can bend his rules how he wants to.
-
@Laws No…? I never said anything about current moderators, just about the moderator application
-
@Nitsua if lapis chooses someone for mod it isn’t the same as applying? (Genuine question)
-
@DREAMY No becuause they did not send anything asking for it. A “promotion” is not the same as an application
-
@Nitsua alr

I understand that, but that behavior wouldn’t be a good role model for people applying to be moderators in my opinion, as @admin’s logic is quite different (in fact, just the opposite) to yours when it comes to curbing toxicity.
-
@Laws i kinda agree
-
@Laws My logical perspective at that time seemed generally the correct way, but like Nitsua said, when they talked to me, some strategies couldn’t work in such specific cases. I respect everyone, so whatever needs to be done should be dealt with in the most efficient of ways.
Thanks Laws for bringing this up again anyway - I think some more clarification is necessary for everyone to understand, no matter how many times. -
Shazz_ I should be mod because my reputation is so good
