I’m 24 and I’ve been on this site for quite sometime but most people here won’t know me. I’m an online mom of two wonderful humans and I would love to talk to anyone who is interested. :)
I am in the therapy world so is anyone needs to talk I’ll gladly listen.

P.S. I do have socials but the only thing I will give is my alt discord account that will only be used for people here. I will put it in my bio.

@KayaRoseWho Just a genuine question since I’ve had an administrator job for a long while on discord and I also am a manager at work. Why exactly is your settings not able to message you? If people can’t dm you for anything how are you able to solve an issue if there is one.

luciliamond_0928 I don’t currently have an issue that needs staff intervention, but whether I have one right now isn’t really relevant to the point I was making. My concern is about accessibility. Telling members to publicly ask for a DM first, or directing them to a different admin, doesn’t address the fact that one of the admins has made direct communication unavailable by default. Not every issue should have to start in a public comment section, especially if it’s sensitive or involves another member. I’m not saying anyone is incapable of being staff. I’m saying that being reachable is an important part of the role, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to question how that works when members can’t contact an admin directly.

@KayaRoseWho I understand wanting to avoid drama, but I still think it’s a fair concern to bring up. When someone is part of a staff team, communication and accessibility are important. While people can comment under posts, that isn’t always the most appropriate or effective way to handle concerns, reports, or other issues that may need privacy. Keeping DMs completely closed can make things more difficult for members who genuinely need help. At the end of the day, it’s your choice how you manage your account, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to question how staff communication works when direct contact isn’t available.

Not everyone is comfortable announcing that they have a problem in a public thread, especially if it involves another member, staff concerns, or something personal.
