Military sexual assault. Yes, two soldiers (female) who have died also experienced military sexual assault. Refer to here or other news sources about them for more information.
One soldier who died recently โ Private Second Class Ana Basalduaruiz, 21 years old, died on Monday, which was according to a statement from the 1st Cavalry Division. Currently, her cause of death is not found yet and ABC News is reaching out to her family.
They said that they spoke to Ana every day, and she reports in most calls that she was sexually harassed at the installation, located in Killeen. Her family offered to pick her up after they all learned about the harassment.
In another statement, authorities said the Army Criminal Investigation Division and the chain of command are checking about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Quoted in the release by Lt. Col. Patrick Sullivan, commander of the 91st Engineer Battalion: โWe are deeply saddened by the loss of PV2 Ana Basalduaruiz, and we extend our sympathies to her father, mother, and her sister. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. She was an exceptional teammate that will truly be missed.โHowever, her death was nearly three years after an Army specialist, Vanessa Guillen, who was stationed at Fort Hood.

As stated from USA Today (here) in a report led by Gen. John Murray, her superior in a troop orderly room in Spanish tried to solicit her to participate in athreesomein the late summer of 2019. He would go on to target her, calling her out in front of her peers and consistently making an example out of her.
โDuring a field training exercise, this same supervisor encountered Spc. Guillen while she performed personal hygiene in the wood line and Spc. Guillen reported that this made her uncomfortable,โ included in the report which recalls that she was adamant about not wanting to get in trouble.
Cited from the article, "Guillen, who told Fort Hood soldiers that the supervisor during the second incident knew she was there but did nothing to avoid her and even shined his flashlight toward her body as she washed up in the woods, said to the supervisor, โof course Iโm not in trouble โ maybe you are.โ "Authorities suspect a fellow Fort Hood soldier, Spc. Aaron Robinson, beat Guillen to death with a hammer in an armory room on post the morning of April 22, 2020. In July 1st, Robinson fatally shot himself as authorities tried to question him, according to Killeen police. Before Guillenโs remains were discovered at the end of June, her family led protests outside Fort Hood demanding more answers about the search for their then-missing sister. Gloria, Guillenโs mother, revealed that her daughter had confided in her that multiple soldiers were sexually harassing her on post. Sad-to-say, one of the soldiers Guillen said was harassing her was Robinson, according to the family.
It is really deep and sad how military female soldiers could just get harassed without any defense. I share condolences to those families, and others who had experienced the same thing.
