Literally, I'm one of those people who would keep their phone on them [But I keep mine on silent and DND 24/7] -
^ I used to always have my phone set to that when I had it because I hated it when my dad looked through my phone and had almost every privacy setting I could enable

i don’t know what’s more stupid here
not disabling your phone if you were gonna hide it in your bag (or at the very least turn down the volume and putting it on do not disturb/mute)
or just not giving it to the teacher to just bypass all the hassle
