guess whos family doesnt celebrate 4th of july
-
we dont but we like fireworks so i mean
but tbh theres no reason for us to celebrate, our ancestors werent free on the 4th of july so π€·
-
@a7x-isbetter-thanu You can say that about a lot of holidays.
Thereβs no reason to celebrate Christmas or Easter if youβre not Christian.
Thereβs no reason to celebrate Thanksgiving if your ancestors werenβt a part of the English Colonists.
Thereβs no reason to celebrate Veteranβs day if none of your family was in the military.Itβs worth celebrating if you donβt only see America as a previously slave-owning country. Jews were slaves during the Nazi era, but they donβt say thereβs no point in having a comfortable bed because their ancestors didnβt have one.

@a7x-isbetter-thanu Wh⦠no words.
-
@InvalidBandit Is that a good or bad thing lol
-
@Duchess Uh- bad
-
@InvalidBandit Bad? How so
-
@Duchess Itβs- history about our Country! Itβs a day to celebrate independence.
-
And while I realize that, my experiences in the world are gonna be different than yours and Iβm reminded of that constantly.
-
Just because I donβt celebrate July 4 it doesnβt mean that I donβt appreciate being in America
-
@InvalidBandit Uhβ¦I know. If you didnβt get the point I was trying to make, I was getting that you canβt really say βthereβs no point in celebrating because my ancestorsβ¦β because you can say that about many holidays that people still celebrate. Hence the list.
-
For me honestly, in my family we celebrate Juneteenth like july4
-
I love celebrating Independence day. Itβs an important holiday, no matter where your ancestors are from or what they did.
-
@a7x-isbetter-thanu Well, thatβs not what I said at all.
-
@a7x-isbetter-thanu Wow. You donβt- okay.
-
@InvalidBandit
-
