Using self-diagnoses as an excuse is gross. Let's talk.

So ๐๏ธ๐๐๏ธ I was scrolling through my tik tok feed, and I was basically looking into this topic of faking disorders and self diagnosing. Now, we obviously know the issue with that, no need to elaborate, Iโm tired. I wanted to just talk about excuses. :/ ๐
โ๏ธ๐คNow if you have self diagnosed yourself, it is in no way acceptable to constantly use your โdiagnosesโ as an excuse for incorrect and disgusting and cruel behavior. Sure, you can say that you have something incorrect with you, but going ahead and putting a label on yourself (such as autism, ADHD, OCD, ODD, ADD, depression, etc) and constantly using that label as an excuse for some bad behavior that you know is wrong, is disgusting. ๐ฌ
If you KNOW what youโre doing is wrong while youโre doing it, and you constantly use that excuse, youโre just gross. Now, I have no diagnoses for shit, I am completely undiagnosed due to the fact we canโt get me to a psychiatrist, but sometimes when I do something wrong, it takes my brain a WHILE to process that what Iโm doing, is wrong. ๐And if you know what youโre doing is, but you use your fake diagnoses as an excuse to get away with it, fuck you. Because there are actually people who suffer through that and who actually have those incapabilities. It just baffles me. ๐
Plus, self diagnosing is just weird. It leads to so many bad behaviors and leads to people making a mockery of the disorder that they claim to have. Some people self diagnose themselves with autism and purposefully act weird, and itโs really fucking disgusting.
Anyways tho, how are yโall todayโฆ ๐๐

@Klavier-Gavin honestly people who do it in general are just fucking embarrassing. I knew a bastard who faked having tics for fun and attention, and as someone who actually has tics (not diagnosed with tourettes tho) it was really fucking odd. I have tics, anxiety tics, and happy tics, and they hurt sometimes. Other times itโs just embarrassing because I canโt control it in classes and shit and I hate doing that shit in front of people where I might be made fun of. Itโs just uncomfortable. I fucking hate people breh I really do. And plus, I havenโt even gone to a teacher about it or even used it as an excuse for anything!

@Hexers-Angel just thinking of those tourettes fakers who make really fake tics that are irregular or not the same. Iโm not really a doctor but we all know those are fake
-
@Hexers-Angel Yeah. I also believe that when people do incorrectly self-diagnose, it subconsciously makes that person fulfill that disorder, therefore making them really think they have it. Some people think so often of their problems, and make choices and actions that, as you also said, they use it as an excuse.

totally agree. iโ've been diagnosed with ADHD, clinical depresion, and panic disorder for a while. (adhd since i was 8, clinical depression since i was 9, and panic disorder since last year) and its fucking disgusting how people will purposefully act like they have shit when they donโt struggle with the shit i do daily. i canโt remember simple things, i canโt control my impulses, i have to take antidepressants to balance chemicals in my brain so that im not extremely extremely depressed. and people think its cute uwu to have a mental disorder, like iโve said in the past, mental health issues and neurodivergencies arenโt a fucking trend. theyโre conditions that fuck up your head. and no, theres nothing wrong with it but why would you CHOOSE to deal with the bullshit that we deal with in our day to day lives??? its unnerving to see shit like that on tiktok which is why i avoid it tbh, because its like dude, i canโt help the things i do, im impulsive and ive gotten WAY better about it since therapy but its still something i have to deal with and i hate the way that people make shit seem like its a goddamned trend, and i get it. diagnoses are expensive, mine altogether were about 4000-6000 dollars and not everyone is as fortunate as me to be able to get diagnosed, but unless you are diagnosed you cannot be sure that you have said neurodivergency. but thats just me
-
@finneass I also love how some people canโt take responsibility for being shitty people
-
@Hexers-Angel real tbh, yes neurodivergency can affect how you act, its not an excuse to be a dick to everyone 24/7
-
@finneass FOR REAL ITS SO ANNOYINNGG
-
@Hexers-Angel cause like i completely understand your mood being affected, clinical depression, i get really really moody and i have really bad mood swings when im depressed but just because im depressed and angy angy doesnt mean im gonna be a dickhead to everyone who tries to talk to me because thats not fair, its not their fault i have a chemical imbalance in my brain which causes me to be extremely depressed is it? then why would i be a dick to them over it
-
@finneass yeah itโs not fair at all, itโs not your fault either
-
@Hexers-Angel i think this video explains it really well
