Is dark mode hurting anyone else's eyes?

Like I know the whole point of dark mode is so it doesn’t but it’s been giving me a huge headache and making my eyes de-focus. I can’t read or type on dark mode without immediately rubbing my eyes after.
Is this normal or do I need glasses?

@Soggy_Bread i HATE light mode. Even on mppc i use vapor because even though i enjoy sketchy, it’s too bright.

@Soggy_Bread I personally think Dark mode is fine(?), I’d recommend maybe testing your eyesight out on a few different themes that we have provided other than dark and light if you ARE having trouble reading stuff. That’s kind of strange though, I’ve never heard of that

Would be nice if users had the ability to customize the forum to their liking. Make their own themes that they like.
I mean with certain extensions and with a little bit of CSS knowledge you can, however, it would be nice if you can do it in site and not have to rely on third-party extensions. I think this was suggested once not too long ago. -
i havent been paying any mind to this place so i cant say for sure this is the reason but i’ve been having killer headaches all week too

I’m not used to dark mode, so I don’t use it unless its the default like on Discord and Android tablet.

depending on what dark mode you’re using, the contrasting bright colors against the black background could be what’s bothering you

bankedboxbox I forget which one it was. It was somewhat dark greenish and more dark gray than black. All I know is I went light mode and I haven’t been bothered since. I already have an eye check up but it’s not till the end of the month sadly.

i recommend cyborg, slate, or solar as better dark modes -
I use cyborg because the colors match the rest of my theme but solar is the most pleasing one in my opinion
