DO YA LIKE WAFFLES?

♥Gay_Bastard♥ Even though you use the same batter waffles taste different than pancakes and are superior. It is all in the way it’s cooked. Waffle machines just add something to the flavor that at pancakes just can not comprehend or live up to what so ever. The holes so you can the perfect amount of syrup to carb ratio and each little hole is a bowl that allows you to have the perfect ratio makes the vibes immaculate. With pancakes, all you get is soggy carbs that does not get a great ratio. As well as waffles are just the superior circle breakfast food.

Your_Local_Doom_Slayer I’m going to eliminate the taste factor from this argument. There will people who prefer the taste/texture of waffles over pancakes and vice versa. I, personally, prefer the taste/texture of waffles slightly more than pancakes. For the purposes of this argument, I will consider this factor neutral and equal. However, I will be arguing in favor of pancakes for a different reason…
Waffles require a specialized piece of kitchen equipment, namly a waffle iron. The shape, the crisping and the texture all depend on this. Without a waffle iron, you have no waffle. While you can, in theory, make other things in a waffle iron besides waffles, most common foods are not prepared well in a waffle iron BESIDES waffles.
Contrast that with pancakes, which only require a flat heated surface. You could fill an entire cookbook with different foods, that aren’t pancakes, that are best prepared on “A flat heated surface”. Equipping your kitchen with a flat heated surface, be it hot pan or griddle, is a fantastic investment for a proper kitchen as this setup will let you prepare a vastly larger number of other meals besides Pancakes. Investing in a waffle iron will give you something that takes up space and costs money that can only really be used for one dish. It is a unitasker.
A “Flat Heated Surface” is much easier to clean than a waffle iron after use, as there are no nooks and crannies for food particles to get spot welded onto. While a properly greased plain waffle is unlikely to leave food residue after use, the minute you introduce things like chocolate and blueberries into the mix, cleanup is going to be a pain. Contrast that to cleaning a flat heated surface. Even if you used chocolate/blueberries, it is easier to clean your pancake surface after use. A flat pan can be soaked, scrubbed and thrown in the dishwasher. A flat griddle can easily be scraped clean.
Therefore, pancakes are superior because they are prepared in a manner that requires less specialized equipment that is easier to clean after use. If you accept the premise that the taste/texture factor between the two is equal, pancakes are superior.
