Emo belongs to post-hardcore, pop punk and indie rock style while gothic rock is a form of punk rock, glam punk and post punk. Emo rockers preach release of primal energy with abstract and chaotic sub structures while Goth are recognized by emphasis on darkness in their tone, dress, hair dyes, make up, emotion, etc -

also i looked it up but in my own words, emo is the type of music and bands you listen to and goth is just the type of styling of clothes you wear but emo can also be the type of clothes you wear but its mostly just goth that is the one that is the type of clothes you wear and emo is the type of music and bands you listen to -
