Warning! This story contains tragic events car accidents and wannabe cat girls. What a happy Thanksgiving!!! Viewer discretion is advised.
I know many other people have already posted about this, but I have a very important Thanksgiving Day this year.Listen or not, I don’t care. I’ll add a short summary at the end to spare your attention spans.
On this very day 9 years ago, a tragic event happened. I was only 5 years of age at the time, so I don’t remember most of it.
Back in 2014, me and my family (Mom, Brother, Grandma. Sister wasn’t born yet, and brother was only a year old), were driving up to Arkansas to visit my mom’s and grandma’s side of the family (With my great-grandma, aunts and uncles+cousins). We live in Florida, so it was a pretty long drive. (Regardless of location, interstate travel is horrendously long). Everything was going pretty well at the time, I was happily sleeping in the car, my brother was occupied, and my mom and grandma were going in the right direction.
This trip takes ages to get to the destination. Eventually, it grew dark, and we were supposed to rest. We parked on the side and decided to take a short nap, but my mom didn’t wanna be late. So, instead, she got up at midnight in the heavy rain and slippery road and continued driving.
You can probably already tell where this is going, I’m not going to describe it all. Don’t worry, I’ll save you the pain.
Me, being a stupid 5-year-old girl decided I wanted to sleep like a c a t, and UNBUCKLED MY SEATBELT… And curled up into a ball and slept. As my mom was driving with the sound of heavy rain and dark atmosphere in a constant forward-moving road, she began to fall alseep and drift off the road.
My grandma, noticing her about to de-road the car, jumped up and tried to wake my mom up.She flinched and lost control of the wheel of the car on the slippery road. She tried to steer and turn, but this ended up with the rod connecting the tires and the steering wheel to snap in half, and we tumbled into a ditch.
The funny part: I FLEW OUT OF THE CAR HAHAHAHAHHAHA
I was launched about 20-40 feet out of the car, and I’m glad I did. Otherwise, I would’ve been crushed to death.
Blah blah blah a lot of screaming a lot of blood and breaking bones
Grandma passed away while the ambulance went the WRONG WAY, and I had to be escorted out by a helicopter because I was bleeding internally and one of my lungs and my liver were damaged
yada yada yada… Spent my whole first grade in the hospital (6 months, I was only 2 months into the grade at the time.)
The good news is, that I aced the grade with a perfect A.
my whole school also sent me get-well soon cards :)we eventually got to visit my mom’s family, but I had to go back to the hospital
Gist of the story:
Went to visit family, got into a crash, blah blah blahAND WHERE WAS DAD??
