human interaction is hard but for what reason

my dumbass sat down at my desk and the girl next to me said “i like your hair”
i stared at her for 6 seconds and then waved in response
it took me an additional 4 seconds to realize what she said and THEN say thank you -
It takes practice. You’ll get better before realizing.

@Namira Relatable xD. I feel so silly becuase when someone compliments me, I just say “Yeah!” in an enthusiastic agreeing tone of voice. Then i wonder if i should have just said thanks, but I dont know what else to say in the moment.
