If you're having a panic attack and you don't have anybody to help you, or if you're trying to comfort someone else having a panic attack
-
If someone’s crying and having a whole ass mental breakdown and having a hard time breathing, please don’t ask them what happened or what’s wrong. They’re clearly upset for a reason.
Take an object.
Show it to them or yourself.
Ask them or yourself what it is.
Tell them (or yourself) to look up at the ceiling and say what they see, which should be the ceiling or a specific thing on the ceiling. Some people don’t get better from physical affection, comforting words and touch.
The best thing to do is calm them down by distracting them from what’s bothering them and get them to open up when they’re not freaking out so you can try to help them out regarding the situation the best you can. -
as a person with panic disorder, this is not talked about enough like at all and im glad you brought it up

@Namira Thank you. Even though I’ll probably never implement this, It’s good information to keep in mind.
