Participated in my first walk out!! (Anti-ICE)
-
Some students in my school organized a walkout against I.C.E. today, and so I walked around with a decently-sized group, and I got a sign that said “I prefer ice crushed” and it was honestly pretty fun! (I know that might be a little fucked up to say, but it felt nice to stand up for what I believe in.)
Only thing that was kinda bad about it is that my school has a Republican Club and the student president of the club and one other member followed us, yelling at us, carrying a Trump flag, basically protesting our protest. One of them called a member of our group a slur (some slur against Hispanics/Spanish-speakers) (I didn’t hear which one) and the guy (who got called the slur) like started to beat the other guy up, and the cops who were escorting/following us had to break it up.
I think the kid is okay, but this was meant to be a peaceful protest, so I was a bit disappointed that it turned violent (temporarily) so quickly, but otherwise all was well! We had a lot of support from people who were out and about, people driving by, etc.

Genuinely saying racial slurs pmo for a different, but still related reason
Yeah so students at my school started to normalize the n word
Mind you, where I’m living at not that many African Americans or other races are here. Nearly everyone is white
Lowkey I would ask why the mfs in my school are “naturally” racist but I would get tomatoes thrown at me (figuratively) -

So like that’d be literally with some kids in my school
