jokes about suicide/depression/self-harm.
its not funny, its something people struggle with and you have to understand theres people here who likely have family members or THEY THEMSELVES, struggle with thoughts of that. and regardless of whether you do or you dont its a sensitive topic for some people and its not funny. kids tell each other kys as a joke and i dont find that shit funny. i know people who have done that and its not something funny, its something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. like im not saying take everything serious but i am saying there are some situations and things that shouldn’t be joked about or taken lightly. joking about things that people struggle with isn’t funny. it just makes you look like an insensitive dickhead.
i posted this in off-topic but its really not off-topic, its something that happens everywhere and i could go on for hours about how bad it is and how pissed off it makes me but yeah.
All in all, stop being insensitive and have a heart and think about shit before you type it.

@finn-dfw-u Well said. Others need to understand that some people do in fact struggle with real Depression and their feelings, and that it does need to be respected and delicately treated - Not to be overshadowed by joking counterparts.

this truly isn’t brought up enough. like, not enough people bring up the fact that its insensitive in fear of being called too uptight but its really not. its insensitive and it makes you a dickhead to joke about that shit. dont say that on a public fucking website, go talk to someone irl about it, like im not saying dont get help im saying look for help in the right place because some of yall a lil TOO comfortable on the site. like im tired of people making jokes about that and being afraid to say anything about it because im afriad someones gonna call me a bitch or a pussy and say that im being weak and shit and im not. its not okay to joke about that shit so stop it.
as a person whos previously struggled with suicidal thoughts, its not funny and it makes me feel invalidated and like my feelings were a joke. and i personally dont like people who say shit like that because its fucked up yk? like people are out here struggling and crying for help and people take it lightly and with a grain of salt. no. you never know what someones going through and i dont think you wanna be the reason someones kid is dead in the ground.

people doing this also makes others feel like they’re just saying that for attention. I personally dealt with this, when I was suicidal, I know people said they were gonna kts for attention, which is why now I feel like sometimes I’m just saying i need help just for attention. it makes ME feel in the wrong and like my feelings aren’t valid just like what @jeff-dfw-no1 said. And it honestly sucks to feel like that.
