Not many people seem to understand this, but no one can make you feel anything. What people think is that other people make them feel things, but it is you who feels something when someone does something. It might sound like the same thing, but it completely shifts the blame off of the other person. Even if someone did do something that upset you yeah, they were the reason you were mad, but they didnt make you feel anything. Yknow how people argue, “yeah, and that’s your opinion,” when they do something someone doesnt like? That is the exact reason you have to reconstruct what you’re saying when talking to someone who did somthing that made you mad.Actions
No one makes you do anything. Even if they made you so mad that you couldnt hold it in, it isnt them who controls your emotions, and it certainly isnt them who causes you to do something regrettable. I think the sadder part of people blaming other for their actions is that they think that it’s out of their control, and that as long as that person gets them mad, they will just not stop. Some people even think that they have to do the things they do because at this point they thinks it’s all people see in them. No. You change the outcome of your actions by just acting better. -
On that note, I’m not too sure that I can make myself feel anything either, I can’t really control how someone insulting me makes me feel
