does anyone else get platonic butterflies?

like, if you meet someone who’s just like generally charming and cool, or like someone who doesn’t smile a lot, is usually pretty stoic and stuff and they smile at you, you get like that butterfly feeling but you don’t have feelings for them necessarily it just gives you that little happy dopamine rush feeling? cause i have a problem with it, and my parents think i like every person i meet because of it but i really don’t. like one of my friends, we’ll call him DJ, DJ smiled at me and he’s usually the stoic type, like very calm and collected, NEVER smiles and i told a joke he laughed at and it gave me that feeling, but i’d never see DJ in a romantic way, my friends think it’s a crush but i know damn well that it’s not so idk, but yeah

@finneass I get butterflies a lot when I’m talking to a girl I wanna be friends with so badly lol. (I’m straight with a bf)

keyword being platonic;
yeah.
shadow’s such a good friend, he’s nice, caring, and understanding
he often shows concern when I display signs of being upset or just complain about stupid shit to himagain this is platonic, this isn’t weird

yes and no
basically, i’m nobody special. just another kid in the class- but when someone acknowledges my existence and does something small, even something really small like saying “hi” it just makes me happy and makes my day :)

@finneass I guess so. I did admire a lot of females in school. But I could never talk to them. I felt I was way out of their freindship league xD
