any advice to stop nail picking/biting??

Alyxπ Well, I feel like short ones would work, if they were just the length of a short natural nail. However, I canβt wear ones that go past my fingertips because I play violin, and it would royally fuck up my posture/playing ability.
I just have to go get short ones if I want to wear them consistently, and I would have to glue them, because the sticky tabs donβt do shit lmaooo -

Clear nail polish helps me, because instead of chewing my nails I scrap off the nail polish with my teeth.

@Your-Local-Reaper I used to bite my nails constantly, not out of stress though. I used to do it to keep my mouth occupied when I didnβt have a random piece of gum in my pocket. I donβt have much advice other than paint your nails a pretty color than coat it with a nasty long lasting clear nail polish. If that doesnβt work I would also recommend long lasting acrylics (if you can afford it.) Acrylics for about a month should get you used to not chewing on your nails. One thing I think you should also try out, is coat your nails with something super spicy. My mom had an empty nail polish holder and she mixed water with JalapeΓ±o juice and she would paint my sisterβs nails with it.
Best advice I can give is make your nails really pretty or make it taste really nasty. Hope you get out of the habit

@Your-Local-Reaper maybe try nail polish i have a problem biting my nails when im nervous or stressed out so i tend to bite my nails but i do nail polish because the nail polish has this bitter taste in ur mouth if you taste it but i also recommend js try to distractyourself from biting them i have never lasted a week w/o biting my nails because i have anxiety
