In the midst of the chaos in the final battle with Morro, the man who started this whole curse I was meant to stop, when my most trusted comrade, the man who brought me here, turned to me, a regretful look in his eyes, I knew something was wrong.
“Sebastian, what are you doing? You’re going to get yourself killed if you don’t pay attention!”
“…You said you trust me with your life, correct…?”
“Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?! You’re going to get hurt if you don’t pay attention and fight!”
“I’m sorry, my friend. It has to come to this. This is…the only way to stop him. Sometimes in life…sacrifices must be made…”
The next thing I knew, his spectral great sword plunged through my torso, and I fell to my knees, coughing up blood. There was no way…he turned on me. There’s no way he’s been on his brother’s side this whole time…
“Sebastian…what have you…done…? I thought you needed me to save the world…”
Sebastian stared down at me, and that look of regret is still there, but it’s hidden behind a cold façade, as he replies softly.
“I do need you. But not in the way you originally thought. I need your body, for a spell.”
“So you needed a human sacrifice?! Sebastian…I thought I could trust you… I thought…I thought we were going to save the world…and I could live to tell the tale…”
“It seems you thought wrong.”
And then…nothing. It was black. I could still hear what was going on around me–Sebastian scuffling around, Nedamei still fighting, and Kaz crying, screaming at Sebastian. But it felt like…my body was at peace. Is this really how it ends for me?
