Let me give some context: me and a friend are making extensive lore for a (FAKE) cult we had this idea for, and basically, it’s set after the extensive nuclear WWIV (World War 4), around the year 2080.

Here is what we have so far for inspirations, just for some vague idea of what we’re going for!!

      • Set in a highly irradiated and deserted area of AZ (Arizona)
      • Religious trauma + horror themes
      • Eye + Sunburst imagery
      • Nightmarish visions
      • Nonsensical glyphs
      • Southern Gothic + Nuclear Apocalypse
We also have animal representation of scorpions, fruit flies, maggots, cockroaches, wasps, orchid mantis, and various birds of prey, such as cultures and peregrine falcons.

I need to know quite a few things–we know that The Queen has Grade III (3) radiation poisoning, and I need to know what kind of nuclear bomb would make her get that, if she were to explore the Ground Zero (0) of her hometown (Prescott, AZ), after the bombs went off.
I also need to know the effects of the bomb that would have fallen–preferably more on the environmental part of it, as I already know there’s going to be a bunch of sick and/or dead people.

I’ve been trying to use https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ to determine that, but I’m having troubles, so if anyone wants to mess around with it and let me know what would work for Grade III radiation (which I can elaborate upon), that would be greatly appreciated!

        All I have is this;

If WWIV happened in, say, the 2050s and your story is in 2080, then most of the immediate radiation from the bomb would be gone.
        Realistically:
Gamma radiation drops dramatically over time.
        Most fallout isotopes decay.
A city hit decades ago isn’t automatically lethal forever.
Instead of the bomb itself causing her poisoning:
        Prescott is bombed.
Nearby nuclear facilities melt down afterward.
        Spent fuel storage is abandoned.
The Queen discovers an exposed reactor ruin.
This is more realistic than decades-old bomb fallout.

        gurt: yo
