no but like seriously- I was chewing on my chew necklace and my dad just sits there being mean to me saying stuff like “You’re not 5 you don’t need a pacifier” so I told him it’s better than me chewing on my skin or metals or plastics, and he’s like “so just DON’T do those things! You don’t have OCD!”
I got so mad at that I just told him to leave.
I came to my mom a year ago complaining about anxiety twitches, then she asked if I wanted to take a tourrettes test. Finn, I’m sure you remember when I was trying to figure out what those were. Then when she was lecturing me, I was twitching and rocking and she was like “Stop faking it, those twitches and that rocking back and forth, it isn’t yours! Stop trying to act like there’s something wrong with you.” So I was so fucking upset.
When I was 8 or 7 I had a breathing problem, and I had no idea WHAT was wrong with me. I was constantly asking my parents, HEY! I NEED HELP! I CAN’T BREATH! One day my mom had enough. She came home like- super tired, but I was really scared cause I couldn’t breathe. Instead of asking my dad to handle it, she just screamed at me saying “IS THIS FOR ATTENTION? YOU HAPPY NOW? YOU WANNA GO TO THE HOSPITAL? THIS IS ALL FOR ATTENTION HUH?! OH YOU SAY IT’S CAUSE OF ANXIETY?! YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!!” and truth is, I didn’t know what anxiety meant at that time, but I just wanted her to stop screaming at me… SO I just lied and said it was for attention. which isn’t true.
