@Cozy-Talk Tomorrow is the 4th of July in the United States, which if you’re not from there, it’s a day to remember when they separated from Great Britain. Traditionally, you’d have a family get-together and grill, play outdoor games, and light off fireworks.
What is your favorite family memory?
-
Oh, Perhaps going to hood canal to visit my grandmother for 4th of july and other miscellaneous events,
we don’t go there anymore but it was always so nice staying at her beach house for a few days with my dads side of the family.
My mothers side is a bit more distant so I don’t see much of both sides frequently.
-
My favorite family memory is car rides. Its one of the only times we really talk to each other and communicate and laugh.
-
@Duchess i can’t provide the information you are seeking, very sorry.
-
juneteenth last year we had a big cookout, then my neighbors came over and asked what we were celebrating, the way heads turned so fast was funny as hell.
(my neighbors are white so im guessing they dont celebrate juneteenth)
-
@a7x-isbetter-thanu and we were looking for good barbeque and nearly got mugged in the hood
-
@Emory1008 Whoa, a beach house with grandma sounds fun :o Honestly, my family is kind of the same. My dad’s side, I’ve only met when I was a baby and they live on the opposite side of the country, but my mom’s side, they live here. And besides my grandpa and my great uncle, everyone else ignores us XD
{_𝐘𝐋𝐋_} Probably being forced to be in the same place as your family, and if a fight breaks out, it puts your life at risk lol. Car rides are nice though. Especially with the radio going
@salmonella I understand.
@a7x-isbetter-thanu Unless it’s a white family trying to virtue signal But yeah, true, they probably don’t celebrate.

When i lived in North Carolina with my mom at the time our city did a firework show. So we invited all of our friends and family. - Me and my mom didn’t have a car so we would have to find a quick walking paths to get where we were going and we found a dead railroad track and oddly enough the dead railroad track had a perfect view for the fireworks so we all went to the railroad tracks and set up blankets and snacks and we stayed there for abt 3 ish hrs and the fireworks were beautiful probably my fav 4th of july holiday -
I was really young at this time but my mom and her boyfriend at the time, Scott, were arguing and I started yelling “LALALALALA” over him. Lol. They started cry laughing.
-
@513 I was a little concerned reading “arguing” was your favorite family memory xD But yes, that’s very funny.
-
@Duchess I don’t even know what they were arguing about
-
It was back a few years ago when dad, ttp, and I all went on our first vacation with our step mom and her kids to Florida. It went horribly and we were all stressed the entire time which caused me to have a panic attack. Ofc that part wasn’t good, but my dad and step mom broke up for awhile when we got home since he was so mad about it. Her and her kids all left the day after.
That night was the best day of my life, we got Wasabi (the restaurant) and took it home to eat, just the three of us. So we sat in the living room around the table, ate our food, and laughed so hard we cried. They are back together now. 🥲
-
Cursed Cucumber Wow. I love that story. I hope you guy get another opportunity to have that again.
-
@Duchess
Yeah, but we do have the choice of going or not [Unless it's for like a birthday or smth] But our mom lets us have the privilege of who plays music!!
But none of us fight each other, we do have the occasional argument but that's never in the car [Surprisingly]
-
When we all got along and didn’t fight like we do now. That was a good time until my mom married my ex stepdad and then it just went to shit. I mean we had those times were it would be a arguing battle but my dad wasn’t there and hasn’t been so my mom got like really upset about that and took everything out on me and my brother but I really do miss those times where we would actually be able to sit down and play a game or eat dinner and not fight and actually have a good time but now it’s like all we ever do is argue.
-
When I was with my actual family. When my mom was alive and my dad was too, when my sister was alive, when my 2 brothers always got along. But now I can never change it. We used to be with each other 24/7.
-
Half of my 4th of July days used to be us just hiding in the house avoiding being shot, because people be shooting their guns on that day and also on new years. we found a bullet in our roof a few months ago. but after that its all good now fr! all these July days after covid have been gettin better now.
