so my dad got me and my mom roses for valentines day. like one singular rose from the store or something. idk. they were really pretty. I got a red one, and my mom got a white one.

When we got the roses, my mom clipped the bottom of hers but she didn’t clip the bottom of mine because mine was still wrapped the first night in that pretty plastic.

and in a few days, my rose started wilting and hers didn’t.

today i walked out of my room, holding the vase that my wilted rose was in, a bit upset.

mine died and wilted while my mothers stood healthy and strong. i wasn’t mad at anyone, but i was sad that my rose was dead. im a hormonal goblin, deal with it.

and my mom starts laughing. not giggle laughing, but crying laughing. about to piss your pants laughing. i need to lean on something im unstable laughing. and i get more upset. she was laughing at ME for the way i was walking and holding the vase.

apparently i looked like i was at a funeral.

and i put the rose down on the kitchen counter, now very upset. atp my dad’s telling her to stop, bc she’s not. she’s trying to hug me, then starts laughing again. so i get very uncomfortable and leave to my room and close the door.

She walks into my CLOSED DOOR laughing again, and i tell her that if she’s here to mock me, leave. she says she isnt but then starts laughing again, saying how ‘she should have recorded me’ nad stuff. so i get to my bed, and im telling her to stop. and i kept telling her to stop untill i was screaming it. Then she got very pissy and left the room, saying ‘roses die. mine will too in a few days. dont need to make a big deal about it.’

she came in my room not even ten minutes later holding HER vase with HER rose, mocking how i walked again.
she then put the rose on my dresser where my old one stood, exept her vase was so much bigger. I didn’t want the rose in the first place, but i knew she’d guilt trip me if i said no, so i agreed. But i wanted to swap vases because the one i had before was more compact and easy. She said that she wanted me to swap the water before, in case it was killing the roses.

Why the fuck do you care if the rose dies? ‘roses die.’ i even quoted her on that, and she changed the subject.
anywho we swapped vases and i said ‘maybe my room’s what’s killing the roses’ and she asked if i wanted to keep it in the kitchen and i said ‘no, if it dies, it dies.’

am i the asshole??
