Not much is known about the backstory of the site director. However, it is hinted that he may have spent a majority of his career previously working with Innovation’s business rival, Pinewood Builders. Specifically in their energy division. Upon leaving Pinewood for an unknown reason, Innovation Inc., aware of Anime’s previous occupation, approached him to lead the revitalization of the once flagship Pinewood Builders Thermal Power Plant, now under Innovation branding.
As explained in numerous lore emails, Anime initially faced the same issues that lead to the closure of the original power plant. However a breakthrough came with the discovery of the Magma Crystals, a turning point that transformed IITPP from a struggling facility into a cutting-edge research facility. As IITPP became highly profitable, forces within Innovation Inc. saw an opportunity to exploit the plant’s capabilities for use in the company’s secretive global arms trade division.
When Julia Jones exposed the illegal manufacturing of warheads, Martin Dale, the Project Director in charge of the weapons manufacturing plant, saw an opportunity to exploit the situation. Martin with his connections in the Innovation Intelligence Agency, framed Anime for racketeering the weapons production, using the controversy to divert attention from his own illicit activities. Feeling betrayed, Anime faced a moral dilemma. In a desperate attempt to expose the truth and prevent further harm, he reached out to contacts from his Pinewood Builders days, inadvertently setting off a chain of events that led to the destruction of IITPP.
My questions:
Why would Martin Dale frame Anime for racketeering the weapons production?
Was Anime a traitor for working with Pinewood?
