In the quaint little town of Youth Lambs, a sudden blackout cast its shadows over the streets one fateful night. The stars above twinkled like distant diamonds, but below, a thick blanket of darkness enveloped all.
Jason and Mark were in the middle of a late-night gaming marathon when the lights abruptly flickered out. A low hum resonated through the house, followed by a heavy silence that seemed to swallow them whole.
“Great timing, huh?” Mark chuckled nervously, fumbling for his phone. “I guess it’s candle time.”
“Hurry!” Jason said, the fear palpable in his voice. He rummaged through the drawer, searching for matches. Suddenly, the glow of their devices began to dim, and the shadows deepened around them.
“Did you hear that?” Mark whispered as the hairs on his neck stood on end. A cold breeze danced through the room, causing the curtains to sway, and Jason’s heart raced.
The moment grew tense when a brilliant flash of blue illuminated the room, revealing a figure—a ghostly silhouette. It shimmered with an ethereal light, its visage twisted into an expression of agony. The blue ghost hovered inches from them, its hollow eyes filled with a sorrow that felt almost human, yet terrifying.
“Run!” screamed Jason, but before they could react, the ghost unleashed a powerful surge of kinetic energy. It flung Mark across the room, sending him crashing against the wall with a painful thud, leaving Jason alone and trembling in the dim glow of the ghost.
“Please, I can help you!” Jason shouted, desperation coursing through him. The ghost turned its attention to him, its expressive sorrow deepening. “What the hell do you want?”
The ghost drew closer. “A soul… I seek a Bloody Soul. In exchange for his safety, I wish for a bond,” it whispered, its voice echoing like a distant storm.
He understoof the gravity of the choice. “No! Not like this!” he implored, but the look of dread on Mark’s face as he struggled to stand ignited a spark of determination in Jason’s heart. “Okay! I’ll do it! Just bring him back!”
With a flicker of blue light, Jason felt an eerie sensation washing over him. For a moment, he lost himself in the ghost’s sorrowful existence, feeling its pain and yearning. The connection bound him and the ghost as it released Mark from its grip, sending him tumbling back to Jason’s side.
But as the ghost embraced Jason, something sinister emerged within him. He could feel the cold tendrils of the spirit entwining with his very soul. Mark, still dazed from the ghost’s earlier attack, slowly turned to Jason, his face etched with confusion.
“Jay? Are you okay?” he asked, concern clouding his features.
But Jason’s eyes glowed with an unnatural light, a malevolence that wasn’t his own. “Get away, Mark!” he snarled, his voice echoing disturbingly as the ghost struggled against its new prison.
“Jay, please!” Mark pleaded, but Jason raised his hand, dark energy pulsing from his fingertips. In an instant, he lunged forward, sarkness pooling behind him like a storm cloud.
Mark dodged just in time, his heart racing. “You’re not yourself! Fight it!”
A hollow laugh erupted from Jason’s lips, twisted and unnatural. “You think you can save me?!"
The battle of wills raged as Mark frantically searched for a way to bring his friend back. He remembered the candles from earlier and scrambled to gather them, hoping the light would banish the dark energy within Jason.
As the flickering flames came to life, illumination danced across Jason’s features, cracking the malevolence with every flicker. He hesitated, confusion flashing in his eyes.
“Jay!” Mark shouted, rushing to his friend. “Look at me! Remrmber who you are!”
The fight continued within him, the ghost roaring in fury at the intrusion of light. Just as Mark felt like he was losing hope, Jason found a moment of clarity. “Mark, I can’t… hold it!”
Time slowed, the room buzzing with electric tension. The ghost thrashed, trying to reclaim control, but the light burned brighter. “Your time is up!” it screeched, fury and despair twisting together.
In a final act of desperation, the ghost surged forward, leaving Jason’s body in a torrent of energy. But as it dissolved, the darkness seeped out of him, freeing him from its grip.
The room became still, the tension dissipating, and Jason collapsed, gasping for air as the ethereal blue ghost vanished into the air.
“Jay!” Mark rushed to him, cradling his friend in his arms. “You did it. You’re back!”
Jason blinked through the darkness, the remnants of the battle fading. “I thought I lost it. I thought I’d hurt you.”
“Not on my watch,” Mark said, relief flooding his voice.
The two friends sat amongst the shadows in a room now silent, their bond fortified by the struggle they had faced together. As the power flickered back on, light flooded the room, and they exchanged a meaningful glance, grateful to be alive and together.
From that night forward, Jason and Mark often shared chilling tales of their encounter, always recalling the ghost that had nearly taken it all from them, yet ultimately led them to a deeper understanding of their friendship. Together, they faced the darkness, and together, they emerged into the light—forever united.

[Cassandra]: “You know, I’ve been meaning to ask you-ever since you showed me well…You, you said that the pumpkin was part of your curse, but…how come it’s not like…part of you? I thought I remembered you had said that part of the shadow curse becomes part of someone, even after it’s broken. So why not you?”

[Sebastian]: “I used a very demanding spell to separate me from it, and give me my actual head back. But I can still resummon it whenever I want. I just can’t perform the spell again without an incredibly rare material. It’s practically a miracle that I found the first one.”

[C]: “Woah…what kind of material could be so rare that it’s a miracle to find one?”

[S]: “It’s a flower called Lamb’s Cress that was picked to near extinction because of its uses. Folklore says that it gets its curse-repelling properties because it’s blessed by the Goddess of Spring, Celestina. People also believe that there exists a legendary place called The Garden of Celestina where they grow abundantly, but no one’s seen it in centuries…”
